Does anyone know who the steel players were on the WLS Barn Dance in Chicago?

Funny you should ask, I just talked to a friend of mine who said he has some of those shows from the 60's on video. He said the steel player on those is Tiny Murphy.

Before Tiny came along, Jimmy Gross was the regular steelman (mid '50s), and before him, way back in the '40s, it was Howard("Doc")Hopkins.

Tiny passed on a few years back-He was a fine gentleman-I saw him at Scotty's show for the last time before he died-He knew it was going to be his last-He was wearing a baseball cap with signatures of many famous steel players on it-He asked me to sign his cap-I asked him why he would want my name on it as I was a "nobody" compared to the others-He just said "Because I like you Paul" Rest In Peace Tiny
