Hey, that sounds like fun! That's a good showcase venue, and the food is awesome. Try the crakerjack shrimp! Hope I can make it. Will there be dualing steels?!? Very Happy

(Not to hijack your post, John, but incendently, right across the street, on the corner of Fairfax and Willoughby, is what remains of famous Cheroke Studios. I worked as a second engineer there in the 80's; Slash used to sell magazines at the newstand in the strip mall that Genghis Cohen is in before he was able to quit his day job. Cherokee is slated to be torn down in a few weeks, so when you're there, take a look and see what, if anything, remains of this once great studio. BTW, you can buy Cherokee's Trident A-Range console from world-famous studio 1 for only $250,000.)

John, are you any relation to Southern California's notorious steeler/fiddler/guitarist/vocalist Carl Walden? If so, you come from good stock...JH in Va.

Are any of you acquainted with Big John Fritz? I only heard from him once several years ago, but; then he disappeared again! I knew him back in 1970.

Jerry, I put that question out there about 8 months ago, and to tell you the truth, I'm glad no one answered my reply to what happened to Carl. My real father, Jack Carl Walden, took a hike, just after I came to this planet. So in a way, I get to make-up 1/2 of me, any way I like. I do try for the good stuff though. John, I don't know of Big John Fritz. Are you being funny ? I know of a Fritz Coleman, though. Those of you that know of Jim Eaton, will certainly not be disappointed in what Jimmy does with Aurora's music. Come see us on Thursday night 9-13-07. Peace-out !

John; No, I'm not trying to be funny, although I do realize it is off topic, but; I'm quite serious. I worked with John Fritz in the Compton, Lynnwood, Long Beech areas in 1970'

Sorry John, ment no offence. Is John Fritz a steel player ? Larry P. Thanks, but usually more people, means less $$, but, I do like the idea of more energy on stage. J. W.

Now there's a thought ! But I'm afraid that this music requires a bass and a steel. I've been taking lessons from Jimmy for a while now, and I'm afraid that my left wrist is still a little too sore from Jim smacking it with a ruler, got to keep those fingers down on the strings. When they asked for a volunteer to play bass, everyone else took a step back, leaving, you know who out in front. Thought I was back in the Army. I enjoy playing all my instruments. And after this year's G. A. S. attack, Well, let's just say that I'm looking for a bigger studio. Peace-out, J. W. Whoa!

Hey Jimmy, never mind the push-pull loan, I had a chance to play yet another one tonight, great tone, but the mechanics get me every time, and no splits, all that. I'm an all-pull guy after all and just have to accept that.

Another guitar I tried tonight was a Sho-Bud The Professional D-10, 8+2, in mint condition, with HUGE tone and even HUGER volume! The tone and voice on that steel knocked us all down, stunning (me, Cliff Kane, Silvio Bello). We thought we loved the Emmons D-10 p/p till we plugged this baby in, the Emmons sounded wimpy by comparison.

Yea, that would be Stevie all right. Stevie and Jane had ringside seats last night. But.....
I am absolutely sure that I brought my IV chord with me last night, and when I got home and set back up... it was missing. I know it's wrong to point fingers, but I have evidence that Stevie was seen with a Maj 7th in his mouth last night.
All jokes aside, Jimmy and I are really enjoying playing with Aurora, and I'm sure you will enjoy the presentation of
" The Pink Williams Band ". TONIGHT ! @ 8:00
Peace-Out, J. W.
