Anyone check them out? We've been hearing about them
"in development" for well over a year or more. I personally like the Eminence & Jensen speakers,
but some players have been waiting for Peavey to get their act together.
Supposedly they were to be at the convention this year. So, any luck Question

Jay I saw them at NAAM in Austin. The magnet was large and seemed heavy to me. The Peavey rep said that the cooling blades would make the speaker "more efficient". The most important feature that I found is that they should fit on existing Black Widow baskets, so that all one needed was to purchase the Neo magnet.

I saw one in the booth in St. Louis, I picked it up and it was very lightweight. I have several on order for my stores (Corson Music) and hope to have them soon, hopefully Mike Brown will chime in here.

According to what I remember from a Mike Brown post a couple of months ago, it was going to reduce the BW by 6 lbs.

Love to buy one at 4 ohm!!

Corson music can help me out then?

So basically, the cone and the frame is the well-known shallow basket BW( 1501 was it?), but the magnet is NEO. Am I missing something?

Jensen Neo 15 is great, but they only come in at 8 ohm...

Al, the Nashville 112 does not use a Black Widow speaker.

Jack-Thanks for the thought. But I know that, I just want Peavey to put a Neodyminium Magnet in the Nashville 112 12 inch to cut the weight further down to about 30 Lbs. I use a old Crate with a 12 inch speaker and it weighs 30 Lbs, I took 7 Lbs of hardwood trim off of it to get at 30 Lbs.. That I can handle... I had a Polytone amp with a 15inch speaker and it weighed 30 lbs, wish I would have kept that one.....al.SmileSmile

Cooling blades? When do they do the cooling, when it's riding in the back of your pickup? Laughing

Hiro the basket will be the same 1501-4SB. The basket is what makes it 4 ohm, not the magnet. Yes I will have them for sale once we get our shipment. I have the baskets, just waiting on the neo magnets

I wonder if a 1203-4 basket will attach also? Are they still making 1203 baskets for steel applications? I tried to email Mike Brown but never heard back. This is what I found when I searched for the 1203 replacement basket on Peaveys site. Doesn't look like my old one.
thanks,
trap

It should work since the 1501-4SB BW magnets work with the 12" BWs also... Hopefully Mike Brown will chime in here....
