Just realized there was a change installed on my steel I didnt know about.
Guess that why the guy I bought it from sent that extra kneee lever for.

I put the knee lever on and the change is this: It raises the first string a 1/2 step and lowers the 6th string a whole step. Is this a common change? How is it used?

The 1st stg raise gives you a 7th of the AB chord.
I raise my 7th-F#-G#, which is the maj7th of the AB chord.

Raise it to a full tone and use `feel`, or a stop to get the half-tone. If you could add the second string raise a half-tone on the same lever, you'll be quids in. Ask Reece.

Sometimes you need to translate English to English. Smile

Quid is slang for pound, the currency. And you'll be "quids in" = you're in the money.

Joe,
I've had this change on my last 3 steels, I use it a lot.
I think a lot of folks raise the 1st string a whole step, but I prefer just the half step.
Joe as it was stated before with AB pedals and the 6th lower gives a real soft, nice 7th chord. Try it, I think you'll like it. Very Happy

Larry
