Thank you, Mark, for the chart and for the other details.
This will avoid two different offsets like Open and Pedals.
I did notice the two F#'s and D#'s but it is hardly noticable.
I will connect the Peterson tuner at the same time and see what happens.
Cheers
Peter

Cleartune App for Android?

Mark McCornack, thank you so much for your brilliant solution. Would it be possible to show the second half of the Temperament Editor?

Lee, here in Cape Town, South Africa, it is not so easy to find the right liquid product.

Russ and Eric, I will borrow a heatgun and let you know the result. Will the strings suffer from a bit of heat?
Eric, the ETS is my favorite guitar.

The wrench still has a good grip without wallowing out the screws. The reason is that the wrench is so thin that excessive forces seem to be too risky, especially for your hands as it almost cut through the skin a couple of times. So I now use pliers to grip the wrench. I only managed to get string ...

https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix1712/9649_multibender_1.jpg You can try this, but you need to decide where the screws go. There can only be one screw in the center of the tail piece. And two screws near the pickup. You may need to use a filler plate underneath the bender to match the raised ...

https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix1712/9649_split_screw_ETS_1.jpg Thanks Russ, I made sure that the allan wrench never slipped, so it fits all screws the same. No damage on the screws and wrench. In addition, the guitar is not old and the visible screw thread is very clean. To loosen the screw...

How to loosen ETS pedal steel split screws.

The 4 split screws on my ETS pedal steel are stuck and cannot be turned.
They are very small and so is the allan key. I am scared to use too much force and do damage. A little oil did not help.
Any suggestions?

Dan, where does it say that the bracket has to go all the way down?
The Hilton pedal feet need to be supported by the floor. Hanging on a pedal bar is not needed. The bracket just holds the pedal in place.

Thanks all of you for the advices. The "guitar" is a budget Asian import. I knew it was a cheap instrument and I did not expect too much from it. The bridge is original and the instrument played surprisingly well. The problem was all of a sudden, but I replaced the strings with JP strings ...

Thank you, guys. I need to prepare properly before I start cutting. It is interesting to notice that 99% of the problem has disappeared when I put new John Pearse strings on. If I have to, I can now correct the bridge slant with a very slight bar slant. I could not do that with the old strings... ev...

Yes, it is a standard guitar bridge. I must be very careful modifying it as it has a pickup built in. The problem is that the guitar is out of tune in different places. I tuned the open strings to perfection. Then I checked the 12th fret with a bar and also the harmonics and it was also perfect. But...

Weissenborn type guitar bridge problem *done*

Are Weissenborn type guitars supposed to have a slanted bridge? If not, what is the best way to correct the slot that holds the plastic bridge?

Sol Hoopii tuning is called C#m7

E high
C#
G#
E
B
G# low

This is similar to other tunings except the B is missing between strings 2 and 3.

Here is a recording I made in 2004. I also created the backing track and played an Rickenbacher ACE bakelite steel guitar, with the Sol Hoopii tuning. After the mixed song there are 2 short pieces without backing to hear the steel guitar alone.

Bill, the sound of a lap steel also depends on the players hands. And the character of the guitar itself depends on the construction. Check Doug Beaumier's playing. His right hand changes position over the strings all the time, following the position of the bar to get the best sound. It really makes...
