Thank you Dave and Jim for your input. I did fail to post that I did take the brass bushing out of the #10 string rod and than took the rod all the way out and cleaned it and the bushing. So I really don't know what the cause of my problem was, but I used the guitar for two four hour jobs over the w...

I seem to have resolved my problem. I changed the string and tightend the tuning key. I also lightly oiled the roller. Staying in tune now, Thanks for the suggestions. My GFI stays in tune now better than my Sho Bud professional.

keep both if you can

I have both a Sho-Bud Professional and a GFI Ultra single neck with pad. I love them both and play the Bud when I am feeling strong and the GFI when my back is hurting. Some differences in tone but I like both of them I would suggest keeping both if you can and you will never regret it.

I have had a Sho Bud professional for quite some time and I have been told it has one of the sweetest tones of all the Sho Buds. If you need parts James Moorhead can probably help you out.

GFI 10th string going flat?

I am having a problem with a GFI Ultra S10 with pad. I have had the guitar 5 years plus and have no problems. Now my 10th string is sporadically returning flat. It is only the 10th string that is coming back flat and as I said it is sporadic. I can be playing along fine and all the sudden when I pla...

I have used them for several years and really like them. They retain their tone a long time and very rarely break. I have a GFI and a Sho Bud I use them on and they sound great on both guitars.

I use a .22w because that is what came on my first sho bud. It was a cross over. I have a Sho Bud tuning chart and it list a .22w for the 6th string in the string chart. I like the sound of the .22w better and it stays in tune better for me. I dont lower the 6th string. Chuck

set up sho bud proIII

Can someone walk me through installing pull rods on a sho-bud pro III custom. I need to start from scratch. Beginning with the nylon tuner (how far to thread on), to the bell crank(do you leave any slack in the rod) to the pedal stop. I have only worked on sho buds with the baskets and brass collars...
