I'm looking for "The right sound". My setup doesn't sound quite right. I'm using a Peavey TKO 80 (bass amp, it was given to me so I'm using it), there is no reverb in the amp. I'm thinking I need a reverb pedal, but how does a delay pedal differ and what effect does it have?
Thanks

Posture Problem??
I'm finding that I keep relaxing my right hand so I'm striking the strings with my middle finger at an angle instead of my finger being straight up and down.
I also find that my right wrist gets sore after 10 minutes or so.
Any thoughts on how to correct this?

Trying to work on Major Scale
Few questions, The video I was watching was showing me doing the whole scale with my thumb. Is that a good idea or should I be using my other fingers?
How do you "kill" the string after you played it so it's clean?
Sounds silly I know, but I really have no clue.

How to choose a set of strings?
I've noticed by looking at the ones that b0b has listed for sale on the forum that each set has a little bit different string combination. How do you choose the "right" set?

New Crate V33-212 all tube amp, How much is too much?
The local music store in town here has one of these discontinued, but new models... Anyone care to venture what I should pay for it, they're willing to make a deal.

Thanks Guys! From what I gather just an Amp with Reverb is all that's really necessary?? Wattage, speaker size make a difference?? I'm sure you get what you pay for, but I don't want to be detered by poor sound quality just because I went cheap on an amp. I have seen Chet's posts, I may upgrade it i...

I'm a newbie...
Greetings, I'm going to go pick up my first pedal steel on Friday. It's a Wilcox S-10 3x2 for a reasonable price, $300.00. I think it will work well for me to determine whether or not I'm coordinated enough to play, then I'll upgrade. I've been looking for an inexpensive tube amp which I think is an...
