Tim,

Have you tried the headphone output on the rear of the amp? Does it sound good from there? My experience says that sometimes these jack get dirty from non-use and simply running a plug in and out a few times helps clear it up.

Hope this helps.

The Bandmaster is about a 45 watt amplifier. Don't confuse the speaker outputs as being "line" outputs. Two different things, two different voltage levels. The amp uses 2 6L6 power tubes. The other larger tube is the rectifier tube. Don't mix them up! You can use two 8 ohm cabs or one 4 oh...

A Deluxe Reverb puts out about 22watts, the Celestion Vintage 30 is rated at 60 or 65 watts I believe. The speaker isn't you issue unless of course it is bad for some reason. I think the suggestion of a SS rectifier instead of the tube is a good idea as it will raise all the voltages in the amp a bi...

There is also some school of thought that with modern production tubes you need to up the screen resistors. From 470ohm to 1K for 6V6 and 6L6 and from 1K to 2K for EL34's. Any thoughts on that Tim or Dave?

JJ 6V6's will handle about the same plate voltages of a 6L6. Do not however attempt to put NOS 6V6's in there as they will quickly become toast. My concern would be the different primary impedence of the output transformer. But I guess it's close enough to
sound good.

The EH pedal sounds pretty good! But I was sold on the sound of the Neo Ventilator a few years back. There used to be some clips or a video of someone, maybe here, playing PSG thru one. The Neo unit has a speed up/down feature. http://www.neo-instruments.de/ They just came out with a new edition the...

I run my VS-Flip the same way. Out of the guitar into the tuner and then into the volume pedal with no problems. So I sat down and checked that it does not matter if the tuner is on or off or which jack you use for in or out (although I do follow the correct jack arrows) So when you just unplug your...

You're right, they're all about the same, between two and three. The most simple thing to do would be to change the reverb send tube, third tube from left looking at the back of the amp, from a 12AT7 to a 12AU7. You could also change the reverb return tube (4th tube from left looking from the rear) ...

Software suggestions for recording software

Just wondering what everyone is using for home recording on their PC's. I'm looking for a package, either freeware or to purchase. Don't need anything real fancy like ProTools just the basics and possibly more. Thanks, Rich
