Magnatone Lap Steel
A friend just acquired a Magnatone 6 string, mother of toilet seat, Serial #26083. Does anyone know how to date Magnatone's from SN -- I've heard it's unreliable. Also, he's wondering if it's best to restore or just leave as is? Thanks.

Can you identify this triple neck instrument?
Here's a jpg of an instrument that was given to me by some generous Texas music fans. They believed the instrument was made by an uncle, but it appears to me to look like a Magnatone Lyric? It's condition is very good, but the nut(s) need reslotting... short scale... no legs. Does anyone know how to...

I hope to be able to supply some new replacement parts for Stringmasters... Do you think that might be extended to Dual Professional guitars? The early 50s are most vulnerable, from what I've seen. Metal fatigue has just destroyed this thing. It seems to me that it would be possible, looking at the...

Jim Stringer, use your existing pans and replace the tuners... Thanks for the suggestions, Rick... I will likely try this myself, or send this along to a machinist friend of mine who has offered to look at the pan/tuners. I replaced tuners on a '59 Stringmaster that I later sold.. it was quite easy...

Fender Dual Professional D8 Tuning Pan -- Yes... again
I'd really like to get my early 50's Dual Pro fixed. I've had absolutely no luck in getting the tuner fixed, bidding on a part on eBay... you name it. I know many have had this issue... anyone have new suggestions. Here's a picture of my issue: http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix1205/9452_d8tuner...

Thanks for the spin
>>Come A Little Bit Closer- Jim Stringer and the AM Band (Music Room) (CD- Triskaidekaphilia) Mike... thanks for the spin... as always, your show is a great bunch of music, and a reminder that there is still alot of good music being made, despite the efforts of the Nashville establishment! BTW... th...
