Ben, Sho-Bud fretboards on a Fender 1000... Have never seen this either, but looks fine. Jim, the bodys and the pedal board are completely stripped, it shows the finish all over. Yeah, I have spent money in "learning about guitars" in the past but I´m happy about the Fender 1000. Price is ...

I placed a search for a used Fender 1000 here a few weeks ago. But is was a bad time, there was a lot of money to pay for taxes and insurance at the end of the year so I dropped the offers. In the meantime I have found this Fender 1000 here on ebay. It misses 2 pedals with 2 rods and 3 or 4 cables. ...

Fender 1000 colour

I´ve never seen a walnut Fender 1000. Is this an original colour ? The pedal board looks the same but shows NO Fender logo. Serial Number is 00502. http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix0912/9161_Fender_1000_1_1.jpg http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix0912/9161_Fender_1000_2_1.jpg http://bb.steelg...

Steve, the fingers are very clean and smooth in all holes and there is enough space that they could move freely. But there aren´t any washers with this guitar. ...make sense to use them. Any ideas where to ask for ? Stan, I´d like to use the more "modern" tuning but it seems it wouldn´t be...

WTB Fender 1000

Hi folks, some guys were very kind helping me setting up my old Sho-Bud D9. But I´m now shure that it will stay at home and I won´t taking it around for playing. So I´m lookig for a used Fender 1000. That would fit my needs perfectly. Years ago I had a blonde 10 pedal model from Gruhn Guitars but th...

Guys, my first setup that Stan suggested with the F# on top won´t work well. It seems that I´ve cleaned and polished the changer unit, espacially the bar that holds the changer fingers not enough and took a wrong grease or the bending and wear problems that John mentioned happend... maybe both. That...

I have now this setup at the E9 neck:

-----P1--P2--P3
F#
D#
G#-------A
E----F#
B----C#------C#
G#-------A
F#
E
B

It works and I will have a try with this tuning.

Thanks a lot for your help Stan and John !

Best wishes and regards

Thanks John ! As I have no idea of the original tuning I know that the changer fingers at each neck are not in the right place cause the changer units were completely disassembled when I got it. So I looked at it but wasn´t worried about that cause I didn´t use a pedal until now and the strings were...

John,

here´s a viev at the cross shafts:

They could be changed but I think they´re in the right place because of the springs.
The rods are out of place. I´ve removed the changers for cleaning.

Thanks for looking ! @Thomas: oh yes, there is a "Bigsby" in Germany    But that´s another story... @John, Stan: I love this guitar. The look and feel is great. I can´t say anything about what is original and what not. I haven´t seen the undercarriage before it was remove...

Hi Stan, thanks a lot for your quick response and your help !!! That are a lot of informations that I could try now. :) Someone in the past painted the underside of my guitar in black, but the undercarriage looks nearly the same as yours. On the C6 neck the pedals could even lower some strigs and I´...
