I'm with Todd here, no splice-y! Don't want to step on Todd's toes if you're getting wood from him but I have quite a few sets of Weiss-sized wood I can part with including flamed mahogany, mango, myrtle and walnut.

The guy playing standard had what looked like Lollar Supro and Gold Foils (looked too nice to be vintage) and the slide guy had a Teisco/Lollar foil in the front and Harmony-style at the bridge. Good stuff!

I just cringe when hear all this talk about re-fining and re-chroming. Even in rough (but playable) shape they are only original once....

Rickenbacker did lots of things other than guitars back in those days. They were first associated with National/Dobro when they were contracted to stamp the bodies for resonator guitars. Pretty cool little item.

Although I never trademarked the name, I've been building 'Weissonators' since 1999. Be great if you could call yours something else to avoid confusion.

Oof, couldn't disagree more. Love the original 'Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac' blues band with Jeremy Spencer on slide and Green and Kirwan on guitar. Certainly the best of the early British blues groups. Nothing against later members, it was great pop, but not what I prefer. http://www.youtube.com/wa...

Old news. If you need one give him a call. Edit: I just saw that the vid was posted this year so maybe Ric has reared it's ugly head again. Hope not, I've built several guitars with them over the last couple years and that would be a real shame to not have them available just because Ric is owned an...

Gotta love the gold foils!!!! If you can find the DeArmond with the row of screws down one side- those are the Cooder approved foils that people pay big bucks for! The 'Coodercaster' 'foils are Teiscos and have the pole pieces on the outside (as opposed to the pictured ones). They are indeed expens...

Because of the way they turned the cover you're forced to play way ahead of the bridge, which is sometimes where you want to play, but you can't play near the bridge at all. I also wonder how much not having the two cones on the bass side makes in the sound.
