Glad to hear that Steve. As it happens I knew right where to find that info since I had the same question about 2 weeks ago. I'm glad you posted when you did because 2 weeks is about the shelf life for my memory banks these days!

From Beard's website - Resonator Cone Care in the FAQ section: A Note on tension screws An improperly adjusted tension screw will not only kill the tone of your resonator but in the worse case, damage your cone! The cone should only have 1/4 to 1/2 of a turn of tension on it total, with the strings ...

I use them for dobro, lap steel and psg. I love them. As mentioned above, they feel great, are adjustable and sound great. I don't know about Jerry Douglas, but Rob Ickes was using/endorsing them. I also use their flat picks on acoustic guitar. They seem equivalent to tortoise shell in terms of feel...

It sounds like you might be having an issue similar to what I have noticed lately on my guitar. I don't actually hear it through the amp but, with the volume down completely, I can hear a sort of warble-ish overtone coming from the guitar when playing the 2nd and 3rd strings (haven't noticed it on t...

Les is giving you a good tip on checking the input level to your interface. If you are clipping the signal going in, you will get a ratty sounding output no matter how much knob twiddling you do with the amp simulator. Keep it in the green and you should get a pretty good sound.

Mark - I chased your thread over to this section. I opened Garage Band and fooled around with some settings to try to get close to what I was doing in Logic. I tried a couple of the amp simulators and got pretty good results out of both the 'blackface' and 'English Combo' versions of the general cat...

I don't recall exact settings at the moment. I have been using Logic Express instead of Garage Band for quite a while. Some of the plug-ins in Logic Express are from Garage Band and others are just in Logic. Not sure which are which off the top of my head. I'll try to take a look when I get home. In...

For practice purposes, I use basically the same approach as you describe for your guitar on PSG as well. It's actually easier for me to get a decent recorded sound going direct and using the software's amp simulator than trying to mic my amp when I am trying to keep it quite enough not to wake my fa...

I also was looking for a way to connect 2 instruments to a single tuner and still have 2 separate output paths. After considering several options, I came to the same conclusion that Steve alluded to - trying to eliminate the 2nd tuner won't save much pedal board real estate or money and may actually...

I spun the roller nut a little, put a little lube in there, spun it a little more and now it sounds good when coming back from both the raise and the lower. Total time to perform the servicing was probably 34 seconds! Thanks again to Earnest for the great advice. It's always nice to be able to fix a...

Thanks Earnest! That is a great explanation. Much appreciated.

I'll fool around with the roller nut and give it a little lube. It actually is a big enough drift to easily hear so definitely worth monkeying around with it to resolve.

Thanks for the reply Henry. I thought about tightening the return spring but, since the string is coming back up from the lower, and ending up sharp , it seemed like the return spring is plenty tight. The fact that, after the string has gone sharp, if I operate and then release the E raise, the open...

E lower comes back sharp?

I noticed that when I release my E lower lever the string comes back sharp. If I follow it up with an E raise, the string comes back in tune after I release the lever. I bet others have had this issue. Any suggestions? My guitar is a Williams S10. Edited to add this detail - this issue only happens ...
