The Bottle Let Me Down

Here's my take on the solo on The Bottle Let Me Down. I hope this is anywhere close to how Paul actually played it...

Talk Is Cheap (Alan Jackson) - Steel Solo (Dugmore)

On Alan Jackson's album Thirty Miles West you'll find the song Talk Is cheap featuring Dan Dugmore on steel. I found the steel solo very tasteful. Here's what I hear:

Whenever you come around - Steel Solo (Paul Franklin)

A while back somebody posted this link to a live version of Whenever you come around by Vince Gill. There is a beautiful steel solo by Paul Franklin starting at 3:15: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiBS8cINVHg Here's an attempt of tabbing this out (using TablEdit). Any comments appreciated... http:/...

Lay down beside me 3/4

This one I'd actually interpret as 3/4. Here's how I'd notate the basic rythm: http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix1205/8944_lay_down_beside_me_34_3.jpg (I) is the basic beat, I'd say. Note that the HiHat is basically played in 8th triplets leaving out the second and third, or only the second. (II...

Bird on a wire 6/8

Hi Tony. Not sure if this is what you need, but I'd say it's a basic 6/8 throughout the entire song. A couple of fills here and there, but basically it's the same pattern all the way through. Here is a rough sketch I scribbled on a piece of paper to illustrate: http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix...

Maybe we should take a minute and think about the odd chord sequence, Mitch found in his "Computer Management": I've got C, D, E, and F Seems our little digital friends attempt to participate in our passion after all? What does that tell us - they want to be part of it? Sorry, couldn't res...

Sorry if I was not precise enough on that one: The idea behind that is simlpy to avoid any constellation where you end up having un-wanted partitions being target of the partition process. Obviously the USB devices are not needed to set up the system. So leave them unplugged as long as you install, ...

OK, let's assume you have a working C: drive containing all the necessary folders "Windows", "Program Files", etc. to run the Windows OS and if it's true that F: is just a copy (and else entirely empty), John is perfectly right: Nothing bad should come out of simply using the F: ...

Chip , usually Windows names the main partition/drive "C:" and installs the main repository (Windows) there - except you tell the installer to do different. So either you did the latter or you created a "copy" of those folders on your "F:" drive. That part I did not re...

Jeff , if a Windows folk starts "liking" something about Linux, he should by definition not be called a Windows folk any longer, what do you think? ;-) And yes, you're right, the most secure system can most easily be compromised from the inside (proven a million times every day!), so with...

A rather technical thread on a musicians board, though, let's see what it has in common with the steel guitar... As you might have guessed, the question which OS to use is close to religious. Same with the beginner's choice of a proper instrument to start with. There are experienced users having val...
