The pedals are working ala Emmons setup. E's on the right though per suggestion of Tom Bradshaw who recently tuned this guitar up. I took his suggestion and gave it a try, and I like it to be honest. I may switch it back if this setup isn't working for folks OR it'd be fairly easy for someone to twe...

Black Carter Pro S-10 plus BJS tone bar

Hey there, I have a pro model Carter S-10 for sale. Black. Recently gone over by Tom Bradshaw. It's in great condition but is missing the arm pad and has a small nick in the fret board (see close up shot in pictures). 3 pedals, 5 knees. Emmons pedals and E's on right knee (I've had several people as...

Arc Angels @ Slim's, San Francisco 7/18

Hey all, I'm playing with Cyndi Harvell at Slim's next Saturday 7/18. I'm playing some weissenborn and bottleneck, etc, and we're opening the show. Arc Angels consists of Double Trouble (SRV's old rhythm section) and Doyle Bramhall (clapton's guitar player)..he's also all over Derek Trucks' last alb...

6/27 SF, Ca Soul Singer with amplified Weissenborn in band

Earl Thomas is an AMAZING old school soul/blues singer that does a monthly residency at Biscuits and Blues in San Francisco. I'm playing an amplified Weissenborn setup in the band. The club has great food. It's definitely a good one to catch a good show and grab dinner! Saturday 6/27 Biscuits and Bl...

Thanks Al, that's some good advice! I do have a regular bar and intend to use it mostly. I am new to pedals and was hoping to try and see if I could get in the neighborhood of the feel of my lapsteel bars. I'm not sure if those bars exist but I'll keep hunting.

Tone Bar question

Can anybody point me in the direction of a Tipton/Lapdawg/Scheerhorn style bar that's got extra mass so it will sound good on Pedal Steel?

I see there is a Shubbs Robert Randolph bar that is a stevens version. I'm looking for something with a bit more of a radius.

Thanks! John

I spoke to John Fabian at Carter today. He was really helpful and walked me through the parts step by step to see what the issue was.
Turns out that the pedal rods were 1' over height so it looks like I just need 3 normal height rods. Hopefully that'll do the trick!
Thanks for chiming in!

Thanks for all the help guys. I'm playing with an adjustable, drum-throne, style seat so I'm able to get up high enough.
I'm going to try adjusting the LKV so that it's a little lower. I'll call Carter today too and see what they have to say!
Thanks!

How should a steel fit?

Hey everybody, I've been playing lap steel for quite some time now, although I only recently joined the forum. Yesterday I found a great deal on a used pro-model Carter sd10, so I brought it home to start the pedal adventure. The woman I bought it from was selling it because her brother passed away....

neil's guitars are great. I have a mahogany and a blackwood version of his standard 6 string. What tuning do you have on this one?
