Happy Birthday Mr. Franklin! I spoke to you years ago over the phone when I was inquiring about a new guitar but you were backed up and about to retire as soon as the last one was completed. You talked to me like we’d known each other for years and gave me a lot of good advice. The best advice was f...

What I consider pay to play is supplying the food for a cookout and inviting my musician buddies over for a jam. I don’t partake nor condone playing pro bono anymore at venues that are profiting from my work.

Ask Tommy White how he does it, he’s a master at it. I typically use my index because it feels easier plus my middle is usually busier.

I’ve never had a problem with them until recently. I put a set on and the high E was a dud. I’m going to contact Daddario and see if they’ll send another set. I ordered 3 sets and am curious about the others.

I like Kenny’s idea, except for the screw trick. You’d have to cut the protruding part of screw off to keep from snagging other strings. I like the clothes pin idea, I tried vice grips but they were too heavy and cumbersome.

Not sure what they used in the older Walker seats, but I’ve had mine for about 10 years or so of heavy use and it’s as comfortable as the day I got it.

Walker seats

Is Walker still in business? I have a Walker that I bought roughly 10 years ago or so and it’s the most comfortable seat I’ve ever had, and the foam feels like it did the first day I got it. This seat still has a lot of miles left but I was just curious if anyone knows or if anyone knows what kind o...

Here’s another from Buddy… From: Buddy Date: 12 Mar 2002 I have two Legrande lll models. I prefer the Emmons push pull sound but find the advantages of the all pull mechanism make up for the slight difference in the sound of the two guitars. Both models cut well; I just bleed a bit more on the push ...

I revisited the mid setting on my amp last night and it does seem to give the sound more breath. I was playing a pp through a toneblock 202 set at about 9-10 o’clock

Jeff, I agree with everything you said about Emmons and the tone. I got my first pp a few years back and ended up selling both of my all pulls, I now have 3 PPs and will never go back to anything else.
I usually scoop the mids because it sounds nasally to me, how do you find a sweet spot?

He could be picking closer to the 12th fret, which gives a mellower tone for effect.

RKR flag

Anyone know if flags require a set screw in addition to the flag fastening screw? My lever has the threaded screw hole for flag and it looks like a tiny hole on the side for maybe a locking screw but can’t tell if it’s threaded. Don’t have the flag yet but it is the type that folds up.

FYI, Some of those old songs aren’t exactly true to frets, not sure why unless they they juiced them in the studio. They’ll be a quarter step difference.
Also what Marco said. If you’re playing at the third fret, the bar will look like it’s to the left of the fret when it’s straight over it.
