Pickup?

What a beaut!!! Outstanding finish and great look without pad! Ive been a proud owner of a Show pro for the last 3 yrs and loving it. Can u tell me which pickup you are using, and, if the switch on the steel splits the coil, do you know the ohms of that split coil? Or describe the different tone you...

Well after posting the question I decided to try the short pull on A pedal. I find it pretty handy for fast runs. But I went back - same reason - better control.

Pedal A: long or shot pull?

I've used a long pull on my A pedal for years. But I was curious what other players liked (long or short) and why?

Thanks!

I prefer RKL - I started out that way; and for me, I find it very musical to use these combination of knee levers: lower the E's and G# together (LKR=G# to F#), and lower E's + AB pedals + vertical = diminished chord or single note runs.

Split coils on BL710?

Does anybody know: Can u split or tap coils on a BL 710?
If so, has anyone done this; and how does it sound?

Thanks!

That's all it Took - Steve Fishell Tab?

Does anyone know where I can get a tab for the intro and solo to "That's all it Took"? Played by Steve Fishall on the album, THE BIG E: A SALUTE TO STEEL GUITAR.
Love the whole album!!!

Compensator

Oops! Brain fog! I already have a compensator on the A pedal for the 7th string (that makes the 7th in perfect tune with the 5th-no pedals and in perfect tune with the 5th-with A pedal)

Compensators for F KL

I'm looking at putting a compensator on the F (raise) knee lever to bring the 7th string in tune. But was curious what other options folks do.
Thanks!

Hot Rod settings

I have the same amp. Here are my suggestions: 0. Use the Normal channel, not Overdrive Channel (for a clean steel sound) 1. Don't use the bright switch 2. Don't use any presence, or very little 3. Boost the bass to 7 or all the way 4. Middle to half or 3/4 5. Treble 2-5 (season for taste!) 6. Reverb...

I'm glad You liked that video - I sold the Blanton shortly after. One day I'll get another one. That would be great to see some pictures of your project. The Blanton was very solidly built and extremely easy to work on.

Blanton

Jim, I played a Blanton for 30 years. I bought it new from Jerry in San Antonio. Here's how I tuned up: 1. Tune up with no pedals first 2. While sitting at the steel feel underneath (you'll probably have to look under and locate in the beginning) - find the big screws that are on the bell cranks, br...

E levers

For example; I like the E raises on LKL, and E lowers on RKL 'cause one of my favorite combos is to lower the E's while pressing AB and vertical knee. Great for diminished chords and runs.

Nice sounding steel, love the fretboard! You have a good smooth touch.
The Nashville 112 I'm sending your way is set for my Showpro with BL710's.
I wonder if those same setting will sound good with your steel?
Like it was said before, keep picking!
