hello-the STAR on headstock is very similar to logo on 50s-60s japanese STAR drum sets and nut and bridge are very similar to Guyatone lap steel that I have --and there is a a tie-up to Guyatone and Star as some rebadged Guyatones had this Star logo on pickups--hope this helps DAVID

I have one of those volutone lap steels(but without the amp!thank goodness!!!) put new strings on it last week--but got no sound out of it after doing so!--ran a magnet over the strings and what do you know it worked-regards Dave I wonder if the magnetized strings are the only magnet on the lap ste...
