Hey thanks Bob, I was just telling Brad from the non-pedal pages that I wish I had been bitten by this bug a little earlier. I was in Austin for a week, on business about a year ago. It was a day or so after the (governor's mansion?) caught fire and was damaged. I'm sure I could have looked at some ...

Hi Dave, Thanks for the infos. I've been looking at Richard Sinkler's web site a couple of times, but I don't drive anymore, and I was hoping to see a show, or meet someone right in SF. -I'm one of those newbies who is fascinated and intrigued by the instrument, but the barriers to entry are great. ...

Looking for pedal steel players in San Francisco.

Imanna try this a different way. Really just hoping to meet some folks in town who own steel guitars, that I might be able to look at, converse about in person, perhaps even touch, and possibly contract for a lesson or two... Original posting: (didn't generate any response...) Looking for a live sho...

Gotta love those "unwrap it, and it works" programs.

Any time I can help someone out for 2 cents, it's a good day. :D

I just recently procured a free program called video-edit-master. (And I've looked at a LOT of video software.) It is pretty easy and straight forward. Can be had @ http://download.cnet.com/Video-Edit-Master/3000-2194_4-10861758.html Which brings up another general caveat I would like to share for t...

Hi Barry, I just saw that video yesterday. I agree, that is a super cool lap contraption, however the bottom line is: I could get that gorgeous Sho~Bud Sandy Martin is selling for the same price. Less actually. No way I would ever drop over two Gs on a Lap. I saw one of the bender bridges on CraigsL...

Some of the old student models were fixed though This statement seems to imply that such a limitation is not the case with newer student models. Is that true?? Newbie to the list, but I think I'm in love with the instrument. I can't seem to stop thinking about how I can get my hands on one of these...

Hey Jay, That looks cool. I think I've heard people use $5k as a ballpark figure. You have to hire a lawyer to search a database or something to make sure it doesn't exist. Someone must be making money off them, or they wouldn't be manufactured... I've also heard of what is referred to as a "po...

SF Lap Players

Hi Ian, Love to get together and do some music stuff. I think Brad Bechtel is going to come by and show me some stuff (inspect the hostages). But yeah, I'ld be glad to meet as many local players as I can right now. Just getting used to how the forum works. (I'm a little bit of a ludite). I guess I'l...

seeking about an hour of instruction in SF,CA

I've been diddling around with guitars for about 30 years; small bit of formal music training. I've been experimenting with some tunings on a cheap six-string, acoustic for about 2 or 3 months, and have had a look through the materials in the c6 book everybody gets. So, I'm at the point, where I cou...
