Finger picks

I've used national picks for over 30 years, these are quite thick, about 25 thousandths I believe and I do not have a problem with loose picks.
Jeff Newman always said if your finger picks hurt then they are on just right, works for me.

If you hear and feel a bit of a click or snap, you might have a "dog bone"that's wore out or even broke.
Check the puller rod at the curled end that's what hooks on to the brass dog bone to create a pull for your string

String not returning

Richard if you don't have worn out dog bones make sure that your changer has lots of lubrication.
I had that problem on mine and it turned out to be both
Pullers and lack of enough lube on the changer

Hi,if you can get a serial no.from the owner,I'm sure Scot Buffington of Evans amps can tell you what year and model it is,the no. should be visible on the back of the chassis.

Pull Pin

Hi George
I'm assuming you mean those little brass "dog bones",I have an 04 S10 that I've had to replace some on,they do wear out, especially if they aren't oiled once in a while.
Al has them at Steel Guitars of Canada,he's the only Carter dealer in north america.
Merry Christmas
