If you haven't listened to the song on my reverbnation site please do. There's a lot of real country music out there on that site. Check out some of the other artist that are using steel guitars in their songs. If artists don't record real country music with new song ideas then all were ever going t...

Hey Dale,
Logic Pro is in a whole lot different then garage band. It has a lot more editing capability but the features and garage band were great as well. There are great videos on YouTube for learning how to use both programs.

Actually the neighbors have never complain. However I think one day when I slid up around fret 17 I might've neutered their cat.

Thanks Daniel! Logic Pro was a handfull at first but I realy like being able to record several takes and mix and match the sections. There is still alot more about the program that I don't know than I do. With all of those tracks available to play with,my ADD is in overdrive!

My husband bought me a 27 inch Mac for Chistmas and Logic Pro X. I added a fire wire mixer and now I can get lost for hours in the studio! More fun than a van load of banjo pickers!

Please take a listen! New country song with steel!

http://www.reverbnation.com/artist/artist_songs/4752146 This song is about a woman going to a bar to pick up her husband. This is real classic country country music. I got the idea for the song while playing in clubs and bars in Texas. You see all of the guys at the bar drinking and I wonder what th...

Hi Donny. The one thing I maybe wasn't clear on is the amp really wasn't very loud. Without the in ear monitors I wouldn't be anble to hear at all. I have to drop the volume sol low that it begins to sound very thin and tinny with the volume on 1 or 2. I was thinking that eliminating the amp fromt t...

Hey Bill! Came up the same way. In the 60s and 70s never had anything but amps, PA and no stage monitors. Sounded great 90 % of the time. Outdoors was a chalenge.

Malcolm May have spoken words of true wisdom! I have been considering that. He has to songs on the Texas charts but his stage presence and attitude will limit his future.

We use in ears in the band and that cuts out most of what is comming from the amp. Those videos are older and I have downsized the amp and tried that. Part of the issue is the "star" of the group. He plays with the mix the whole show on an Ipad. The sound guy and him sort of battle it out ...

No amp on stage?

Is anybody out there playing without an amp on stage? Thinking about going straight off the effects rack to the PA system. Might help stop complaints about stage volume. With the volume that they require, and the amp mic'd it is so low that I don't get any response from the amplifier.

Oddly, cleaning the input jacks got rid of 90% of the noise. There is still some hiss but not a deal breaker. Thanks for all the info!

Sound of eggs frying

I have an evil red knob Twin that. Whatever is the instrument is plugged into it has a frying eggs sound in the background that's quite noticeable. If nothing is plugged into the amp isn't dead silent. I tried the tires plugged in it does the same thing every time. I switched cords, cables plugs,eve...

That is very true about the db reading. That is what I hear all the time. "Your gain jumped up so I turned you down." They like all the dancing lights to be equal on the board. The worst part is the lead singer is running sound from an IPAD the networks with the board. Changes sound and mi...

I have had a couple people run sound job. But when the singer does it really a bad idea. You has a couple of songs climbing the charts in Texas and a few other places in the country so obviously he has become a genius. It's a good thing I have a sense of humor though.

Sound man kills tone

I know many of you have had this issue, but I can't help but whine. You spend a lot of time and money to get good tone. They mic your amp and have you play at a barely audible stage volume and the mix makes you sound like crap. No bottom, thin and barely in the monitors. I would fire him but its his...
