I worked at the USPS Management Academy in the 80's, just outside DC in Potomac, Md. The company that I worked for took care of the food services, catering, and housekeeping. Postal employees referred to it as "the country club". 376 rooms, 3 meals every day, lounge, gym, beautiful grounds...

Yes Tom...I have the EPS 15C in a Session 400 for 2-3 years now, and I really like it. Also the Eminence TT 12" is in my Evans JE 150 and it is much better than the stock speaker. I had Weber's Neomag 12 (the one Ted designed as a neomagnet version of a JBL) in the same amp before the TT 12, an...

Yes Tom...I have the Wah pedal that you asked about. It's the Crybaby GCB-95, bought back in the late 90's. I remember right off the bat I didn't care for the noise it created even when it was in the off position. I modified (common modification) it to be true bypass because the stock model back the...

I've been enjoying the Maxon AD9 lately. Very quiet and built like a tank. I have also liked the Carbon Comp in the past. I don't have a Carbon Comp at the moment, but I'd like to try the mini version of that pedal.

In focusing on your comment about the TT12 speaker in a 2 X 6V6 amp...I can give a big thumbs up on that because of a different amp than the one I described above. This is a SF Deluxe Reverb from the early 70's. I was thinking the TT12 might not be a good match for the 22 watt DR, but I gave it a tr...

What features would make a Perfect Tube Amp for Pedal Steel? Often times here on the the forum many players love the Twin Reverb (SF, BF) for psg. Either stock or add a couple of JBL's, and the weight is pretty impossible for me (bad back). So a couple years back, I took up a little experiment on g...

If it's of help, I would definitely rule out the 1st reissue Vibrolux Reverb for PSG. When they first came out I did a side by side A-B comparison with an original 1970 SF model. The reissue started breaking up way earlier than the SF, and the reissue was brand spankin' new. The distortion began jus...

I believe my Session 400 is a 1977 according to it's serial # and came with the stock Black Widow. I replaced that speaker with an Eminence EPS 15C (which is a neo mag) and it's been very good in that amp. I really appreciate the weight reduction too.

Congratulations Mike...that is really a bad-dawg. It sounded great in the 1x12 closed back speaker and I betcha it would have sounded just as good in the 2x12 cab with not much of a
little tweak on the tone controls.
And BTW the chassis is mighty handsome too.

My experience seems to be the same as the others here... and in tube amps also. I don't know what's up with modern tanks made by Accutronics, but putting the MOD tanks in seems to improve the reverb in the amps I've tried them in. That even includes a '63 reissue Fender standalone reverb unit.
