He was here in my hometown at our annual July 4 celebration on the river. But, I was celebrating the holiday with my family. Which also happened to be my birthday, but I'm not telling my age..

Gene did a show here in north Alabama just a few days after that. Wish I could have gone, he opened for Merle Haggard. This is sad news..

I also have enjoyed Michael Jackson's music. Think I'LL BE THERE is one of my favorites. Regardless of how you felt about him,the fact is he was, and will continue to be, one of the world's most notable music icons. RIP MICHAEL

Bobby Street is staying busy with Charles Markham and the BONAFIDE band. They play Huntsville and Decatur on a regular basis, with shows at PJ's here in Muscle Shoals about once a month.
