Workbench legs

Hi Bob, Sent you an email regarding a set of your workbench legs. I didn't mention it in my email to you, but I'll mostly be using these on a couple of Emmons push-pull guitars, as well as a Sho-Bud, a Carter, and a GFI. As far as I can tell, these legs should work on most any brand or model PSG, co...

Yaaay! Problem SOLVED!!! Thanks to everyone for your great ideas to help!!! I had previously talked to Jon Light about this a month or two ago, but at the time I didn't have enough time to look closely. Jon's ideas were very similar to to the suggestions from Bob Hoffner, David Ball, Bill Sinclair, ...

Help with diagnosing very thin and tinny single coil pickup

I have an MSA Classic D10, that I was using as a practice guitar that unexpectedly started sounding extremely thin/shrill/tinny. I believe the single coil pickups are the originals, and nothing has been changed since I've had it (2 or 3 years?). I have played it occasionally before now and it sounde...

I'll take it Leon. Please send me a PM or email with details on payment, and I'll give you my address to ship to.

I did have a couple of questions about the pedal:
1) Roughly how old is this one?
2) Does this also have the bracket to hang onto the pedal bar?

Thanks,
-Chuck

Hilton pedal wide open and unresponsive, weird problem.

I have a Hilton pedal (low profile with detachable 24vdc power supply) l that is intermittently acting very weird. The volume seemed to go extremely loud, and moving the pedal through it's range doesn't seem to do anything. I also tried turning down the volume on my amp, and that didn't seem to help...

By the way, the Perfect Touch folks do have a thumb pick, which I did try, but I did not care for that. I use a Golden Gate thumb pick along with the Perfect Touch finger picks on my 1st and 2nd fingers.

I hated the usual finger picks used by many, like you I could not get used to them, and felt like my fingertips were in a vise! I tried a set of Perfect Touch finger picks, and LOVED them!!! I've had them for 7 or 8 years (I think), and love them. When I got mine Rusty allowed you to try them and if...

Thanks everyone for the information, all very interesting. I'm now thinking it is not "tone suck", but I seem to be encountering what Lane mentioned about flanger pedals generally "tanking" sustain. Thanks Lane! I may just need to figure a different method/effect to get the sound...

What is meant by "tone suck"?

Could someone please explain what is meant by the term "tone suck" as it relates to effects pedals? I recently began using a Line 6 MM4 pedal for one particular song. I'm using a preset "Jet Flanger" and it seems like the sustain is noticeably short. Is that what is meant by Tone...

Jon, maybe this could be a "sticky" item to be around near the top for a long time. When I was first into this, the info from the Carter website was invaluable to me. I know some of that info has surfaced in different places, but I sure do miss that site and what it had to offer in the way...

While we're talking about this stuff, I also picked up a used Electro-Harmonics Holy Grail Nano, which I actually like better than the TCE Hall of Fame. Very simple 1 toggle switch and 1 knob, and sounds great. The HOF pedal also sounds good, but a little more involved in dialing it in.

Lenny, thanks for those ideas. Unfortunately, I tried all those. I first thought the problem was with my volume pedal, so I removed the pedal from the chain and the problem remained. Then I removed the reverb pedal from the chain and the problem went away. So, then I thought maybe the cables might b...

Advice for odd problem with my Boss RV5 pedal

I have a Boss RV5 reverb pedal that has an odd problem that may be hard for me to describe. It had been working ok, but seems to have developed a problem that sounds sorta like a slight clipping, or garbled sound just at the attack, when I would hit a string. It was only at the attack, and then it s...

I will soon be flying to Florida to my parents, and would like to take my finger picks, bar, and tuner with me, so that I can do some playing down there using a friends guitar rig. Anyone know if there might be any problem with TSA security in the way of them not allowing the picks or bar?? I suspec...

I'm using a MB-200, with a EH Holy Grail Nano reverb, and a speaker cab with a Black Widow 1502-4 speaker. Very happy with it so far. I recently replaced a Boss RV5 reverb unit which had a problem with the Holy Grail Nano, and it made a big difference. Before this configuration I was using one of eit...
