Hi James! I don't think this is made by MG guitars in Germany. It appears to be an upgraded version of the Clearwater lap steel often seen on Ebay. Not a bad steel actually...cheap and good. The seller says he has these made, which would imply that he just imports them. Probably from China and not G...

Yup! Stephen is right. This is just like the Clearwater I owned except for the bridge on the Clearwater is a more simple steel angle instead of the badass style here. Actually it's more of a copy of the Chandler lap steel than an Asher. I just got rid of mine (not because it was bad) because a frien...

Totally trippy! Dennis, I'm diggin' those quite a bit. If I ever get around to making my own lap steel, I'll definitely give you a ring. I think it would be cool to do the whole top of a guitar or uke with this stuff...very trippy indeed!

Yup!
I've been using the same model for a while now. Compact enough to fit in the gig bag accessories pocket with room to spare...and they are very stable...oh, and cheap too!!
...and Fred, by the way. I'll be picking up a copy of the CD real soon...looking forward to it!

Hi Dave! That is a very cool sounding axe! I was just wondering what it sounds like acoustically. I mean, does the resonator actually produce any volume or is it strictly there for the piezo tone? Could you play with other acoustic instruments and still be heard? Is it possible to put a blend pot on...

Hi Ray, I'm glad it worked out. Like you said, it's a great deal at that price. I just measured the distance from the string to the pickups on mine and its about 9mm. I get tons of bass out of my setup. Almost too much sometimes. The pickup height is easy enough to experiment with. Maybe they just n...

I've been using one of these for about a year now. This is the newer version of the Clearwater lap steel. The only difference between the one i own and the one pictured here is the placement of the control knobs. My Clearwater has the knobs positioned in a row just to the side of the strings. I've s...

Cruztone Jones!!!
Hi Colin,
If you ever decide to do the loaner program in Europe, put my name at the top of the list. Those cruztones look so sweet! And from what I've heard they sound great as well.

John, This E to A is the factory setup and not what I would do with it. Granted, the multibender was designed to simulate basic pedal steel licks. Still you're right, that's a little too basic. I'm personally not so interested in substituting a pedal steel but rather expanding the voicing possibilit...

Steve, Yes, I spoke with Duesenberg about two weeks ago and they told me the multibender strat replacement bridge is still available. They have had problems delivering them due to the untimely death of the original supplier. These things were being manufactured by an external shop. Now they have fou...
