Hi, John. I use the BB with my Derby SD-10, Roland Cube 80 and Tru tone /single coil, and I like the results. It does sweeten those harsh highs and lend an over-all sense of character to the sound. The effect is subtle but it's there. One day I did the closest thing to an A-B test that I could, just...

I'll stand for Joe Naylor's Steel Seats. I just got one of his "slimline" models--compartments arranged for my own needs, and although I've never had the other seat mentioned, I cant imagine a more well-built or comfortable seat than this one! And Joe's great to work with as well.

Lightning dobro

Anyone know who plays the impossibly fast (for me) dobro on Rhonda Vincent's song "Busy City", on her new album "Only Me"?

Hi, Joe. Excellent job! The seat is perfect and comfy. Now in hindsight I wish I'd gotten the power strip, if it doesn't diminish the space in the compartment. If that's the case I would highly recommend it to perspective customers. I have my first two gigs with the seat next weekend. Can't wait :!:...

Another way of putting it; the A pedal, for instance, raises the 5 & 10 strings one full tone. Where you place the bar doesn't matter.

George, I have both Goodrich and EB pedals with exactly the same Dunlop pot in them, and the highs are a bit more sparkly with the Goodrich. I can't explain it except that maybe the position of wires is different, causing some kind of capacitive effect in the EB???

Isn't it in the delivery of various harmonics that the tubes differ--not in the response of the base frequency?
Also, on my Peavey N-112 amp it says "high definition studio instrument amplifier", but somewhere in the literature it says the speaker is voiced for steel.

I built a light weight stand of wood that holds my Roland 80XL about a foot off the floor and angled back about 15 degrees. I usually place it 4-6 ft. back and a little to my right. My left ear is shot--it distorts loud sounds.

I recall focusing on the strings I wanted to pick, but under the left hand instead of the right, and that seemed to work pretty good. These days I don't think about it much.

I remember one day, frustrated with trying to learn this intimidating thing, when I suddenly and inexplicably changed my attitude and became the boss instead of the slave. I immediately began playing better. I consider that day the true beginning of my learning process.

Hey, John P--
I have the same setup--Derby SD-10/Trutone/Cube 80XL, but I also have a Sarno Black Box. I think this would make the difference for you, if you can swing the $300.
I get nothing but raves about my tone at the gigs.

I have what seems to be an unusual problem--my left ear distorts loud sounds. I first noticed it while listening to a live band. I kept insisting to my wife that bass speaker was broken--that's exactly what it sounded like. Long story short; the e.n.t. doc told me I have a chronic sinus condition. T...

Just an aside on this amp--at our gig last night we did Boot Scootin Boogie as usual, but this time I thought I'd pull out all the stops and do the grunge guitar (with my Derby SD-10). Earlier in the day I switched the Cube 80XL to lead and turned the modeling control to "extreme". I playe...

I decided to go with the Gold Tone ABS mic system, which clamps to the tail stock and uses a foot-switched pre amp. It's been working really well for me with the band. We're not a loud band--we don't have a drummer--and I find that as long as I keep my self between the mic and the amp speaker I get ...
