EMCI value

I have a black EMCI collecting dust, which is morally wrong. It's a 3x4 SD 10 with a ToneAlingner pickup. It needs a new home. Can you give me a ballpark value these days?

I'm focusing on lap steel, dobro, and guitar.

I also have a Tonic and a Furlong split.

Help would be appreciated.

Sold an Evans a while back w/o this speaker that was not even broken in yet. Time to find it a new home so I can get my neck reset on a Guild D 35.

$120 plus actual shipping

These amps launched me on a whole new audio journey. I have three. One has never been touched and sounds great powering an old HiFi console. I'm listening to Charlie Parker on my second amp that was recently serviced, and the third, being built with Triode parts, sits on the bench waiting to be wire...

A TC Furlong cab with the space for a Sarno preamp would indeed be a great if not cheap choice.

I've got a Tonealigner in my EMCI and I have had raves from several pros whose opinions I respect. I'm sure the PU is a big part of the tone.

Just this week I got to plug three different steels into my Sarno Tonic/ Furlong split setup. The Tonic and the Revelation pre amps employ the Black Box's circuit as the first stage. We dialed in a basic sound we liked with my EMCI and then plugged in a Mullen. The Mullen was much darker, but we eas...

I started on a Stage One. It was more than acceptable, and I easily could be playing it two years down the road, but after a short time I knew I wanted to continue so I got an SD10 pro guitar. I can now evaluate a steel, but starting out I could not so I bought a used guitar from a dealer, Jim Palan...

The solid mahogany Goldtone. Does it sound as good as the $2500+ guitars? No, but plenty good enough.

New dobro

I'm having a blast playing my Beard Goldtone dobro I got a month or so ago. I've been very focused learning pedal steel, but this has become a major distraction. Having played a few years with fingerpicks and playing some blues bottleneck in open G tuning are enabling me to pick up the basic idea qu...

David- There are no steel stores in the SF Bay area I know of, but quite a few steelers. If you can't make a trip down to Oceanside to Jim Palanscar's shop, the next best thing would be to cozy up to one of the local players who may know of steels for sale in the area. You also couldn't go wrong buy...

Jim Palanscar of Steel guitars of North County (San Diego) should be able to fix you up. He's listed in the links above. He's had what I've needed for my EMCI.

Bill- I think you will find that it is only illegal if you do not exceed the 2 to 1 ratio of instruments to amps. It is perfectly lawful to have two guitars and one amp, but as soon as you add the third instrument, you must buy another amp. If you have six guitars you had better not get caught with ...

Can't believe I missed this thread earlier. I grew up in Calexico, Ca. in the 60s. We used to walk across the border a few blocks in away from the tourist joints and sit in bars drinking .65 mixed drinks and listening to the Mariachies as they floated from bar to bar. I now live in San Jose in almos...

I found the Eclipse speaker in my Evans to have an annoying harshness in the upper mids. A 1501 with a Neo magnet was a lot warmer. I happen to have one in the for sale section. The new Sicas seem to be very popular. Unless you really like your Eclipse I'd just buy one of the lighter speakers.
