spelling
Please excuse my spelling. Some things do as well in small packages. Such as a iPad, however, typing on them is far from the best. The greats must be laughing at my previous post, but, to me they are the one's pushing the sound out, that most people enjoy. Paul likely has as many guitars as amps and...

Why don't we ask the best
Wished Paul Franklin or Reese or other greats that have pineered the making and sound that the instument provides would chime in. Really they have played more venues and have had more studio time than probably most of us have ever dreamed of.

this is good !!
Thanks everyone, mysteries seem to be coming unsolved. I once asked a question on the forum (inadvertantly in the wrong thread) about having to think when you are right involved in playing. Have you ever not had to think about what chord or note comes next because it just kinda happens. (Now if that...

right hand dropped
I have been thinking about your picking arm position. That really is the same position as when your arm is wrapped around a bass or six string. I have to try that : ) Is your bar hand pinky placed so that when you decend it is the next logical place for that chord ? And you seem to have many differe...

picking
Hi Zane thanks for clearing up the confusion on how many picks you use. From what I see, you dig your thumb pick in and to me it looks more like on a forward roll you pull. eg. index finger pulls middle finger forward and so on. Your sound is not thin because of this. And how do you manage to get th...

do you use three finger picks ?
I watched the video and tried to pick out things that I could learn off of it. Your right hand position is interesting as I was under the assumption that a level playing arm is the proper position. I am having a problem with my picking fingers. If I use three picks, all works well. If I try four, so...

Having to think ?
Do you play better when you have to think about the next thing you are about to play ? Like gee whiz how do I play that next chord ? Or do you find yourself so involved in the moment that you don't have to think about what you are going to play ? Hope the question makes sense. Roger

lessons
Hi, I just have to post. I am very excited that my better half thinks that I can't miss this. So I am going in March. These will be my first face to face with a teacher let alone, one of the best in the business. Reese is such a congenial gentleman to talk to on the phone and my email questions to h...

If I would not have taken any lessons, I would not have known what I missed. Pedalsteel.com is offering online lessons, one on one, or the seminars. It's working for me, maybe it will work for you. Roger

U-12
Hi, I purchased a new U-12 in June and received the guitar in Oct. I too have a good understanding of music, I believe. I researched the forum for many months before I decided which one to buy. It is a big investment, especially if you have never had the luck to sit down and try any psg. Reese Ander...

Thanks Walter, it will be fun ! Hi Rick, I placed the order on June 22 or there about. The color is red mahogany with the 600 changer. I originally ordered a sd10 but later decided on the uni. Bill makes a body for the sd10 that is not as big as a double, and has a pad. That was my first intention. ...

I fully agree Scott, his techniques and universal course are great. Of course, The up from the top series is great to. My problem has been that I can watch and read the materials but if don't have your guitar yet well......I guess I will have to strum my six string till then. Mister Rudolf told me t...

Hi, I have been playing bass for a number of years. I have a jazz bass ( 4 string mind you) that I have played since 69. I have never found another bass like it and believe me I have tried lots. I guess that, maybe over time, a person becomes one with the instrument you are playing, so the sound you...

Thanks Chuck, I have been watching the forum for a few weeks and what lead me to the Williams was the post, My New Willy, and the new changer ? It seems to be priced right. I choose the burgundy S10. I also asked for the wood neck, and was reassured that it would not be like a guitar where the neck ...
