I agree with Erv & Dave that the bottom is the side facing the floor but I think the Author (David) is referring to the picture below regarding the fretboard symbols and their orientation. Sorry if I misunderstood the question https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix2203/9575_Fretmarkers001_1.jp...

No - it doesn't really matter. I was just curious as to what people's opinions were.

A question about fret markers...

I searched the forum for "steel guitar inlays" in an attempt to see if this had already been addressed, but I couldn't find anything. Apologies if I missed it. On some makes of pedal steel guitars - Sho-Bud, MSA - fret markers are oriented so that they appear upright if viewed with the tun...

WTB 3x4 Emmons S10 push-pull

Anybody got a 3x4 Emmons push/pull they're looking to sell? Ideally, I'd find a black mica model to replace the one I had years ago.

I'd be thrilled with an SD10, too.

Thanks!

Wow! Never seen one of these. When I saw the thread title, I thought "I wonder if it has a lipstick pickup?"

Sure enough, it does. What a cool little steel.

It's tempting, but yeah - Mr. Treece is correct. I'm really looking for a 3/4.

They’re not like cars. You can sell for near what you paid for, give or take a few bucks, used or new, as long as the condition is good to excellent and you didn’t get ripped off initially. Thanks for this. I've played guitar for almost 30 years - I try to buy used guitars if only because they tend...

Returning to steel...

I hope y'all don't mind a post like this, but I'm in a place where I'm not sure exactly how to move forward. I first started playing steel guitar maybe 15 or so years ago. I was in graduate school the last time I really tried learning the instrument - in Nashville, of all places! That said, juggling...

WTB Emmons 3/4 S10...

I made the mistake of selling my old Emmons S10 on here some 13 years ago. I'm in the process of getting back into the instrument, so I'd love to be able to snag another one. I've considered shelling out for a new GFI, but I really prefer the idea of sticking with an older steel. Any leads would be ...

Just to clarify for a few who've asked...

The Emmons is tuned in E9. As I don't know how to accurately type out a copedant on the forum, I'll be happy to e-mail to you a description of it.

Thanks!

Late 1970's Emmons S-10 P/P...

I just can't justify keeping this thing around while in graduate school. I don't have the time to practice/learn, and I can't justify keeping cash tied up in a beautiful instrument like this. Shame! Anyway, the serial number, as you can hopefully make out in one of the photos below, is 1620 S. From ...
