Sven: I don't know if this will help, but Mr Remington offers a GeorgeL that is made to sound more like the Fender Stringmaster. Cindy Cashdollar has a D8 with these, I spoke with her in Austin and she said she loved them. She said her previous Remington sounded "muddy" and she wanted more...

Hi Steve:

Congratulations one your new Remington, I too have a Steelmaster D8 and love it; I put my A6 on the inside and E13 with a high G# on the outside, you will probably use string guages like a Hi C6 on the E13 neck;

That CD covers a lot of groud, Bert Rivera was the featured Steel guitarist with Hank Thompson from 1961 - 1971 witch is included in this CD. Most if not all of Hank Thompson's steel men played Pedal Steel, and part of the time there were two playing with Hank.
