Big Joe Talbot's beautiful steel backing Hank Snow together with Chet Atkins, and Curly Wise. (c.1950-1954) A real treat. The tracks were recorded on discs for issue to radio stations ONLY (138 tracks in all). All downloadable from YouTube.

Barry, It appears that the switches on your guitar have been changed from DPST (double pole single throw} to DPDT (double pole double throw). I used 3/8" diameter stainless steel bar stock for the bridge and nut on my home-brew double. It works just as Alan has described.

Paul, The only variety of spruce I would consider using is Sitka spruce because of its high strength to weight ratio and its tough elasticity.
