Mike Johnson

Has anyone heard how Mike is doing? I understand he has/had some health issues. Been watching a lot of Country Family Reunion and Country Road TV videos. Can't get any better than Mike. His playing is always awesome!

It is so sad to hear of ED's passing. Thanks, Ollie for posting it on the forum. After meeting you and seeing/hearing your guitar, I knew I had to have a FULAWKA. Subsequent to a few calls and e-mails Judy & I made the trip up to Penetang to meet ED. What an afternoon. It was like he had known u...

Hello Jim,
We visited with Ed last November (took my S10 up for a once over) He was good then. Just a little slow on his feet after getting one knee fixed. Still selling spices and building steels.

Vince Gill Concert

We had the pleasure of attending the Vince Gill concert at Casino Rama last Saturday night. There are no words to adequately describe what an entertainer is Vince. No flashy theatrical smoke or pyrotechnics - just non-stop good country music. The entire band, including Vince's daughter Jenny was top...

I recall this issue on the forum some time ago and one solution offered was to run a cord from the Pre EQ Patch to the Post EQ Patch or something along those lines. Could someone confirm this and tell me exactly where to run the cord? I really want to avoid blowing up the amp. :)
Thanks,

Yes, Ed is still building Fulawka Steels. In fact I took delivery of a new S10 last September and it is certainly living up to its reputation. Love it. He had a few more on the go too including a beautiful green D10. Ed seems to be in good health but as mentioned his knees are giving him trouble. We...

Hello Mickey, Great info there. Something you might consider for future videos is steel back-up for a singer instruction. This an area that I and I imagine others would be interested in. Always enjoy and learn from your videos - keep 'em coming. Thanks, Bruce Carter S10, NV1000. MU2, DC3, C441, C550...

Hi Mickey,
This is one great lesson. I'm using grips that I had not used before. It opens up a whole new part of the E9 neck. Thanks, man you are a national treasure. Can't wait for the next one!

Hi Ed, That was beautiful. Our son, his wife and our brand new grandson lives just north of Chicago so we have more than the usual affiliation with our USA neighbours. I look forward to all your posts here on the form as your playing is always excellent and provides great inspiration to a beginner. ...

Bobbe Seymour

I'm listening to Bobbe's 24-7 audio streaming - some awesome steel there. Sure makes painting ceilings go a lot better. Incidentally, Bobbe if you see this, I'd come pretty close to turning in my mother-in law for the tab of "Release Me".

I've known Al for five years now and over that time purchased two amps, a new Carter and other steel related odds & sods. He will never steer you wrong, I can vouch for that and as Shawn said, we are sure fortunate to have such a resource here in Ontario.

At what point do you think mainstream country music started to drift away from the real thing? In any case it's a real shame.

That was just awesome. I play some at my church but I,m just getting started at 67 years old. It is so great to see a young fellow like you up there on that steel. Keep doing it for ever.

A perfect example of back-up steel by a master. The singer is not too shabby either. Thanks Jamie for posting this. I had it in my bookmarks for a long time & then it went missing. It's going back in right now!
