Frank's full name is actually Franklin Carter. What did anyone think he'd do when he grew up?
Sorry about the Farter name suggestion. Couldn't help myself. . . .

Frank,
It appears as if my suggestion to combine your first and last names as a name for your new guitar was also rejected. FARTER GUITARS

With all due respect, nothing I have ever heard sounds as good to me as my old red EMCI. I bought it from Bruce Bouton ten years ago, after Bobbe Seymour played his own EMCI for me in his shop. I have never regretted buying this guitar and all who have heard it will agree with its tonal attributes(a...

Thanks to Mike Brown @Peavey

Just a quick note to let Forum members know that Mike Brown and Peavey came through for me on a particularly touchy repair on my old Tubefex. It took three tries to get it right, but Peavey kept at it until it was finally repaired. They even picked up the shipping to Mississippi.
Thanks again,
John

To those who asked-
Those marks on the inside of the lid are remnants of tape marks. I found it very handy to post diagrams of my pedal setup, tunings and string gauges right there where I could see them at all times.

I think Brick has it right. . . .and Steve did get one heck of a deal on his EMCI. I heard it last week and it holds promise to be a great guitar when the right pickup match is found. That seems to be the big trick with the welded frame guitars. All sound good, but great is a matter of pickup and so...

Andrew, You don't know how lucky you are! Great guitars. I would suggest that you consider changing that Barcus Berry pickup out with a George L E-66 or 10-1. Easy to find a used one here on the SGF. Don't let me find your posting a decade from now about how you got rid of your EMCI and should have ...

Bill, That's a winner(incontinent rodent not withstanding)! Use some heat(hair dryer or Tucson in summer) to remove the fretboards and reapply with contact cement. Take out the Barcus Berry pickups(they make nifty refrigerator magnets) and replace them with other, better options. I'd suggest George ...

MCI, D-10, 8+7 RangeXpander

MCI D-10 with 8 pedals and 7 knees(3 added), Emmons setup. It is the sought after aluminum welded frame RangeXpander model made in Arlington, Texas just like the EMCI. Dark Burgundy mica, triple raise/lower, upgraded with a matched-to-guitar pair of George L E-66 pickups. Very good condition overall...
