Would you consider trading your Gold Tone for a double neck Guyatone?

Any interest in a trade? I have a Guyatone D8 and a Gibson Consolette D8.

Stephen, I used this idea: http://www.mcmaster.com/#97088a220/=qnhy20 with appropriate threaded stud to adapt 1/2" legs to 3/8" thread on an old Gibson. You could do the same to go to 5/8"

Can't speak for anyone else Andy, but I say the more the better. It's the readers choice if they want to skip some posts.

Coors Ceramics used to make hammer heads out of zirconia so it's pretty tough stuff!
Sometimes they will chip if dropped on concrete though.

I measure a little different than Jozef:

Upper bout -- 7"
Lower bout -- 15"
Waist -- 5"
Body length - 15"
Neck Length - 19"
Body depth -- 2"

I'm headed out of town for the weekend, but if you don't have an answer by Monday I can measure my Gold Tone case for you then.

I come from a dobro background so I like to have the 5th note on top. When I do this with 6 strings in a 6th tuning, I lose the root on the bottom -- so I like to have at least 7 strings.
The narrower string spacing of an 8 string is a difficult adjustment for me though.

Just heard Yesterday's Waltz by Bud Isaacs on Pandora.
Been getting quite a bit of classic steel there -- just have to stay with it and keep gving the thumbs down when it gets off track.

Tighter string spacing is an issue for me, since I started on a 6 string dobro but I am starting to get used to the 8 string.
Shouldn't be a problem for you, coming from 8 and 10 string guitars.

I met Waldo Otto's evil twin Dr Banjo -- nice guy except for the banjo affliction.

On the used market, a Gold Tone Beard or Wechter Scheerhorn can usually be had for around $500. I have had both and thought they were good reso's for the money.

Gotta love Wayne Hancock -- I'll have to check it out!!
