Thanks guys! Having a great time so far. Wonderful folks and they really love the steel guitar. Kevin, I’ve been living a bit dangerously the last couple years and flying with a D-8 perm I got from Rich Sullivan (thanks again, Rich!). The body in a rolling keyboard case is just under 50# and the leg...

Ireland tour w/ Caleb Klauder Aug 30 - Sep 6

Really excited to be touring around Ireland this week with a couple of great singers playing some good old traditional country music as well as great original material. The band also features the amazing Joel Savoy on fiddle and legendary bass man Mike Bub. Apologies for the short notice! https://bb...

Wow, a Lynch thread!! Here’s my D-8, had it for many years. Pretty much a crude perm copy. Same keyhead detail as the one Liam posted.

Hi Joe, if the buzz sounds a little like a sitar check to see whether the string is dipping down after it goes over the peak of the bridge. If so, a new string will cure it. This can also be an issue on some standard guitars, especially Teles with barrel saddles.

I’ve had the pleasure of playing lead guitar alongside many phenomenal steel players and Todd is right at the top of that list. Thanks, guys! Appreciate you taking the time to check it out. John, you asked about the gear. I used three different guitars: Sho-Bud Permanent, Bigsby T-8, Rickenbacker DW-16, and two amps: Deluxe Reverb and a tweed Pro clone. As for the recording process, I can tell you very little. Matt Buetow (s...

New CD release “Rusty Blake - Lowering the Bar”

As a perennial sideman I’m not quite sure what got into me, but I’ve gone and recorded an instrumental steel album. Twelve tracks, nine originals, all featuring the stellar lead guitar work of Ian Miller. Stylistically it’s pretty old school, both straight and pedal steel, lots of twin guitar ...
