I just had a light bulb go on! How about an "LAL ankle lever"? It would eliminate the possibility of pressing a pedal at the same time, which may or may not be desirable. Plan B: Tony Arrowood uses a wrist lever. See one of his YouTube clips: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvamIt7xvsE&...

While I'm certainly not any size, shape or form of a qualified steel repair person, I can visualize an "L" shaped piece, with the pivot hole in the corner of the "L", to translate the forward/reverse action of such a lever to pull (push). I'm sure some engineer-type could figure ...

First, you should determine is your second computer capable of running Windows XP Home, and, how 'limited' and environment will it be for XP? Although XP will run on some really slow computers (800mhz range), preferrably, something in the range of 1.6 ghz or faster should be used. Preferrably, a Pen...

My computer is running NOTICABLY 'snappier'...from boot up, to program load-up time, to internet activity. 2. Configuring the automatic virus scans is far, far easi...

I'll give it a shot. Norton keeps hogging more and more of my CPU. Even though I'm running an AMD XP 3200 CPU w/2.5 gig RAM, sometimes I see the HD just 'running wild' when I go from one screen to the next on the web.

Adios, Symantec!

Many thanks for the info, Wiz!

I'm suspicious of Norton myself, these days. I've been a loyal Norton user for over 20 years! I go -way- back to Norton Utilities 1.1 (on a 5.25" 'flippy' diskette! - I still have it filed away somewhere!!). Lately, however, Norton Internet Security has been going wild on my computer simultaneo...

I had a similar problem a couple of months ago. Everything on the web was slower and slower. Downloads took forever. Even after manually stopping every process other than Win XP processes itself, the problem continued. I tried a 'speed test' at my DSL providers web site and it revealed speeds slower...

As a former Fedex Ground employee at a hub sorting center, I know from experience that perhaps 50% or more of the damaged packages are the result of improper, or inadequate packaging on the part of the shipper. The rest is the result of package handling (manual and mechanical). Oh yea, I’ve had to d...

For a couple of years, I had problems getting labels 'dead center', even when using a 'stomper'. I was more aggrevated than pleased most of the time. So, I solved it by getting a direct-to-CD printing printer. Right now, I have an Epson R580. It's definitely not a high-volume printer (about 3 mins/C...

Hey Wiz - I just wanted to say thanks for your good advice regarding XP SP3. I 'played in the fast lane' and applied it to my home-built AMD box an hour ago without any backups, etc. I figure I can always wipe out the HD and start fresh again if I had to. I've done it a number of times with XP forer...

I have to agree with LaVern. Although I'm a newbie (barely 6 months!), I experimented with my NV1000 based on information on this forum and plugged the volume pedal to/from the pre-eq jacks on the front. As I have a slightly scratchy pot in my pedal, plugging it into the pre-eq removed most of it, a...

It appears that the 'original' auction indicated here was actually a rip-off artist trying to scam somebody. FWIW, ebay does a fair job of policing rip-off artists and when found, will delete not only their auctions but their IDs as well. I got gyped by one a couple years ago and his ID disappeared ...

I looked up in the "completed auctions" (check-box on left of screen after doing a search) for Standel and found what I think you were seeing. It looks like the auction was ended by the seller for whatever reason...maybe he got a private offer, or changed his mind. A seller can cancel an a...

I always thought that the service pack was always 'safe' to apply across the board. I guess not. I've been keeping my homebuilt XP3200+ up to date with XP fixes from MS, and am considering SP3. You may wish to try colored tape. For 8 rods, use 2 colors per rod, such as red + green = #1, blue + green = #2, or some scheme like that. Sequence of colors could also be used, eg, R+G and G+R. My thinking is that colored marker ink may rub off.

As a former Fedex Ground package handler that spent many hours processing damaged packages, here's a couple of things I learned: 1. There's no such thing as 'fragile' to package handlers. All packages are treated the same based on general size, shape, and weight (if not hazmat). 2. The most common c...

Lately, my (bought used) Peavey Nashville 1000 has been making a raspy buzzy sound...like that of a torn speaker. By lately, I thinking about a month...give or take.
