Pickup Covers

My experience with Duncan and Lollar stringmaster pickups is that they don't fit in the existing covers without filing the flatwork. It's a bit nerve racking. I've been making my own covers by chopping up six string covers and gluing the pieces together. I cover them with plastic tops. http://bb.ste...

:) I thought this post was about the whereabouts of Paul Warniok. How did the subject get changed? I would also be interested in hearing from Paul. :? Wally Sorry Wally. My only knowledge of Paul is from his post on the Bigsby style Guit-Steel and that was the reason behind my inquiry. I do hope he...

I think they were retrofitting pickups on a previously built guitar. No doubt a Paul Bigsby design would be out of this world. I have pondered building one for sometime. Tho there is only so much time in a day. Todd I don't know Todd, sometime you just have to bite the bullet and do it just because...

you mean this? http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix1403/923_jr_new_guit_1.jpg Nope, not that one but thanks for posting it. I never get tired of seeing that one. The one in question would resemble a Paul Bigsby guitar and lap steel of some sort. My mind is blown just thinking of what it might loo...

I've gutted a couple bass cases to fit the two guit-steels I made. I re-build them with 1/2" styrofoam and fake fur. You can cut the styrofoam to fit and stack pieces as needed. I glue them in place with 3M spray glue. http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix1403/6924_image_1.jpg http://bb.steelg...

Thank you for the replies. That's a shame that it didn't work out, if that is what happened. I'd still love to see it some time.

Is Paul Warnik still a member?

I'm wondering what ever happened to the Bigsby style Guit-Steel his partner was working on for Junior Brown. Was it ever completed and are there any pictures of it?

Stringmaster fretboards

I tried to search but didn't have any luck. Does any here make replacement fretboards for 22.5" stringmasters, or know who does?

or an old supro style. It would be worth my cash to buy old supro pickups with the sweet old covers, the wing pickguards, glossy red with white outer binding. piezo on the bridge with a bigsby. gumby headstock. have you named your Guit steel yet? Mine is "the skirtshaker" No name yet, I'm...

Now you got me thinking. I had enough alder to build two so I have a body started but without any pickup routing. I think a bigsby style would be cool. Curly maple tops and bigsby style pickups would be sweet. Can't wait to see your GS-2. Keep me updated.

Re: guit-steel!

Dave, that guit-steel is real sweet! 8) Are those genuine Fender parts or reproduction items? The steel fret board and tuning pan look great. Thanks Michael. I got lucky on eBay one day and got the bridge plate and tuner pan in the same auction. The fretboard is a reproduction from steel guitar Nas...

I made some 8 string covers by cutting up 6 string covers and super gluing thing them. I made blank tops from an old parts tray. Worked really well. http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix1205/6924_image_12.jpg http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix1205/6924_image_13.jpg http://bb.steelguitarforum.co...

Help iding this lapsteel

This lapsteel was posted on another forum by a guy who bought it from someone who thought it was a fender. It looks like a cross between a Gibson Skylark and a Epiphone Electar to me. Anyone here ever see one before? http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix1205/6924_image_7.jpg http://bb.steelguitarfo...

Those plates look great. I'm doing something similar in aluminum for a couple guit-steels I'm making. My only problem is the bridge mounting tabs but I think I have that worked out.
