Hi Daniel, You should be able to get what you want on the highwater.co.nz site using the 'Mode' tab. If you select the 'Chromatic' mode in the drop-down list and change the note labels from "scale numbers" to "note names" then you will get the fretboard with a note on each string...

Hi Richard, I really like the one Rick mentioned. But I registered and necer got the confirmation email. So, I have to enter my copedent every time. Luckily I don't need it very often, but it still drives me nuts that I can't save my copedents. Yes, for a while the emailer on the website was broken....

I have my A pedal lower than B.

I can roll my foot to the left way further than to the right, so if A was higher than B I would have to take my foot right off the A pedal to press B by itself.

Not sure if this is normal or not!!

Hi Howard,

It doesn't do tab at all, but my website can do scales/modes which I guess includes pockets as well. Not sure if that is what you're after though.

See this thread for more info.

Cheers,
Trevor.

Another question, partly just a curious one from an 8+4 player and partly to check I've got the logic behind my chord finder page correct, but I was wondering if you are able to activate more than one knee lever per knee. For example would you ever engage a left (or right) and vertical lever at once...

Thanks very much bk, I am much obliged. Let me know if there's anything I can do to make your tweaking easier.

BTW I updated it to allow for up to 14 strings (how many guitars have more than this?).

Yeah, I think I got bored adding in the different chords before I got up to adding any 6ths! You can make up any chord you want, though, using the little boxes below the drop down list.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments.
Bob Kagy wrote:Trevor, that's really nice. Will it take 12 string tunings?
Yeah, up to 12 strings it can do: After you click the "view/edit tuning" link use the "Add string" link below the copedant chart.

Hi trever , I cant get it to work for some reason , any ideas? Oh, sorry Russell. Is it not working at all? Even if you do something simple like choose a different chord from the dropdown box and click "Draw fretboard"? What browser do you use (this has not been extensively tested :)). Th...

Possibly useful chord finder website

Hi, I've been a long time gone from this forum (I used to just lurk anyway :) ) and I recently got back into playing my steel again after a bit of (young family induced) break. Anyway, after noticing that the old skobrien chord finder webpage no longer seems to exist I thought I'd put up a link to o...

I have a Linkon D10 which I picked up when living in Toronto. I believe it is from around 1990. Its a great sounding guitar, but it does weigh a lot... I do have some trouble with lowers not returning correctly, but I think its due to the changer being a bit worn out. Here a couple of pics... http:/...

"What on earth is that!"

I know the Pedal Steel is a relatively unusual instrument, but here in New Zealand it is literally unheard of. I have my Linkon D10 set up in the lounge and when anyone visits I usually get a comment like, "What is that?". My current answer is: "Its a guitar on legs.... I'm lazy."...

What I've learnt from my first post to the Steel Guitar Forum: 1. Ask a question and you'll get a good answer quickly. 2. Put the words "Buddy Emmons" in your title and your thread is bound to get lots of hits. 3. Mention a certain riff by a certain player and you'll probably start a flame...

Buddy Emmons Intro: How does he do it?

Hi, This is a first post, but I was wondering if anyone can tell me how Buddy Emmons plays the first four notes on 'Take Me In Your Arms And Hold Me' from Willie Nelson's "You Don't Know Me" album. The first 10 seconds of the song can be found here: http://www.highwater.co.nz/~trev/TakeMeI...
