Hey Jim, I do have a functioning 800 that has 6 pedals. I have it resembling an e9 Nashville tuning and I know just what you mean about cable lengths. The cable lengths were designed for a 6th tuning and work now as a "stiff" but functioning E9. Here are some pictures of the 800 that needs...

In Andy Volk's book, Lee Jeffries uses what he calls the Noel Boggs E13:

I think it's also referred to as a Hawaiian E13. I'm sure there's many more he used. I'll look into it.

I've been messing with the famous Herb F#13(F#high,D#high,F#,Bb,E,G#,C#,E) tuning for about 3 days and finally today the half burned out light bulb started flickering.
