Dammit, here I go again...I don't know what's wrong with me....
I promised that I wouldn't lust after any more guitars...
I guess it would be a lot cheaper than a girlfriend....

Joseph Kekuku Statue
Thanks for the pics Derrick. It was a terrific event for those who attended. That statue is exactly where it should be. Joseph Kekuku is one of the favorite sons of Laie where he grew up and developed his technique for the "Hawaiian Guitar" , a technique that the steel guitar world now emu...

Jerry's 80th
It was March of 2000 and surprise party for his 80th. His wife Kaleo and I put together a guest list. Lots of entertainers and former students. DeWitt Scott and his wife Mary flew in without Jerry knowing. Scotty didn't want to cross paths with Jerry in town before the party so he hid out with my da...

Clinesmith sighting on Kahala Beach
hey Ronn, maybe we can talk about my performance schedule, recording, travel gigs, etc. another time or place. I'm real happy to have been busy in the Hawaii music industry for a very long time. More than people know. My steel teacher gave me some great counsel to go ahead and get out there and get ...

Clinesmith sighting on Kahala Beach
Hi Jerome, the biggest modifications were related to string spacing. Top to bottom, the original Bigsby dimensions weren't going to work for me on a 24-5/8 inch scale. Todd had to effectively redesign and custom fabricate a whole new nut and tuning assembly. I had never seen, heard, touched, or play...

It's a beauty Mike. Congrats. You hauling a double 10 around means that you're not only that much stronger, but you also have 25% more brain cells than me. The air around here is heavy with anticipation. This one is going to hit the ground running.

Happy New Year everyone. 2013 was great. I've had an opportunity to work with Todd for the last 12 months in anticipation of adopting one of his creations. Steelers are a very fortunate artistic community. We have two of the finest craftsmen and classiest guys among us in the form of Todd Clinesmith...

Semanticizing....I've noticed when the steel player stands up his lap disappears... so then he's playing ..a console , which I guess makes him feel better... ...of course he could be consoled while sitting down and still be called a lap steeler , which would not make him happy...even if he is ...

Wow Mike ! Double 10 . I'm gonna follow your progress on that one. The part of my brain that would have served those 4 additional strings was lost in the '70's.
Seriously, it's gonna be great fun having one of these in the Pacific Theater of Operations (Hawaii).
Everybody seems happy with theirs.

Relatives of Andy Aiona and Jules Ah See
Aloha. I would be most appreciative if any of you have any leads as to the whereabouts and/or contact information for the relatives of Andy Aiona and Jules Ah See. We're producing a program next month in Waikiki to honor some of the steel guitar greats, including these two gentlemen, and we're conta...
