Great Tool

Tom,
This information is very helpful to me. The video is really informative and the lights are finally turning on.
Thank you for spending the time to help newbies understand the fretboard of their lap steels.

Box mp3 to Audio CD

Open the folder on Box where the mp3 is stored. Click on the 3 dots on the Box mp3 icon and select download. Pay attention to where it is going on your computer. It is usually the "download folder". Then, do the following: Insert a blank CD-R into your computer's CD drive. Open the Windows...

I second the SM57 suggestion. Buy it NEW from a reputable source like Sweetwater of Musicians Friend for around 100.00 I would not recommend buying used since there are so many fakes out of China in circulation. I bought a used 57 from a forum member which turned out to be a fake. I very seriously d...

Thank you for the replies. It sounds like C6 is the way to go for now. Andy - The intervals of the C6 open tuning is very enlightening. Buddy's comments on intervals also gives me some encouragement. I have developed an ear for intervals on guitar, so that should help. Would you recommend your Explo...

Newbie to lap

Hi - I mostly play guitar and bass. I am able to play basic fills and backup on PSG. (Not a melody player) I purchased an 8 string lap steel a few years back hoping to learn some simple fills and licks. The idea was to have something portable for impromptu jams etc. It seems to be much more difficul...

This is very sad news. I never met him, but I own SN0017 black SD-10. His legacy will live on through the wonderful guitars that he meticulously built.

RIP Mr. Rains.

Hi bOb I chose the Behringer X-Touch over the Faderport 8 because it has many programmable hot keys. It really speeds up workflow for me. I haven't had any issues with it using Reaper. The Sweetwater site has instructions to set it up with Studio One. I love the motorized faders. It can also be expa...

Paul - I think the hotels are about 10 miles away.

I have only been to this venue one time, so I don't recall if there were many vendors.

I am planning to go this year for sure!

I don't use Ableton, but you should find something like this

Make sure that the output is set to your mixer and not the Focusrite.

On second thought - make sure that the output of your DAW is routed to the mixer in your audio device settings.

I don't have that mixer, but I would try messing with the source buttons near the Headphone/Control Room potentiometer or possibly the USB 2TR/USB to Main button.
I think that it is the physical routing on the mixer and not software.
I could be totally wrong.
