One question... what does "Deluxe34" mean?

It was originally a 3 or 4 leg in one design

THANK YOU from Deluxe34

A big THANK YOU to all the many supporters of Deluxe34. 15 years of fun talking to some of the greatest steel players to ever pick up a bar. It’s been a pleasure and an honor. Thanks to Gerald Ross for buying the first one and giving it a rave review when I posted them on the forum. Thank you to all...

Todd Clinesmith Fretboard Journal article

I know this is technically a pedal steel, the first Bigsbys seem to be in that grey area when pedals were meant for retuning rather than melodic use. Anyway, I thought a lot of non pedalers would be interested in the restore of Speedy West's Bigsby by Todd Clinesmith in the current Fretboard Journal

This lap steel is 29", I think it fits pretty well
I have an extra one of these. I bought 6 for some lap steels I had without cases. I sell it for what I paid.

I don't think the one for sale is JMs first...the head stock looks different. I think there was a second one made followed by the famous console. So I'd wonder how much playing the second one actually got before the console arrived.

I like it when the pick ups start to get "microphonic".
It adds to the transparency of the touch and tone of the pick up. IMHO

So the first Bigsby pedals were plungers, didn't know that!
He must have went to cables pretty soon after that

back in 1992 I was playing with a band that would introduce the song as "Sleepwalker" every time I played it.
Yes I currently have that experience, every time too

I wonder if the angle of the strings coming off the nut (or bridge ) on a higher nut effects the feel and tone. It does create more tension in the string. Not sure of the physics involved, but strings going through the nut nearly flat feel looser to me.
