how can you date the age of an Oahu Tonemaster? I can find no serial # on the outside.

I am looking to play mostly blues.

I just got my first lap steel delivered. it is a Ouhu tonemaster. How do I decide what strings and what tuning to use to learn?

I'll probably leave it alone until I find someone in the area who I can trust. Thanks for the advice form everyone.
