He's using a Dobro Tuning (GBDGBD) but with the high B tuned down to A.
So, low to high, you get GBDGAD

I'm also a travis, fingerstyle guitar player, and Roy has helped me out so much to learn this style on steel. His tabs are fantastic and accurate, and he sends out a slowed down MP3 that really helps. If you want to learn this style on steel, Roy is your man!

Anybody have advice on maintaining tuners on an old stringmaster, they're working fine, but I feel like I should be lubing them. How to, with what, and how often would be much appreciated.

oops, I didn't say why, Well, it felt great to play and sang like a bell. Now that I think of it, my fickle heart also wants a Beard Mike Auldridge, mostly because I like an 8 string.
