I apologize if I posted this before, but I thought it was appropriate for this thread. I'm sure you can recognize Speedy West in the rear (on the left side of the picture), and my Dad is the one on the right. The picture was taken in about 1951 in Van Nuys, CA. Speedy and his family were neighbors o...

I saw it on Sunday. The exhibit was well done, and I enjoyed it. I saw that Jim Palenscar loaned a couple of his steels.

I've been in the computer industry for 44 years in design, development and manufacturing. I started in design and did long stints in Engineering management and Manufacturing management. It has become frustrating enough that I announced my retirement effective 1/30/09.

On My Way

I fly out of San Diego tomorrow morning. I will be driving around the state visiting some other car nuts, then headed to the convention on Thursday. I'm really looking forward to it.

My wife had several strokes. She continued to recover from them for up to a year or more. Most of the recovery was the first three months, but her symptoms did continue to improve after that.

My Dad knew Speedy West because we lived in the same neighborhood, and they both rode Harleys. The Christmas of 1951 Speedy gave my parents a 45 RPM Capitol recording of his of Steel Guitar Rag for them to give me as a Christmas present. My sister got the record player to be able to play it. She got...

Small world. I started at Birmingham when it first opened in 1953. It started as a Jr. High School and then grew into a 6 year school. I don't know what it's like anymore, but it was a converted VA hospital back then.

I was unsuccessful getting through on the toll free number, but I did get through on the local number - 314-231-3003. The difference was that this time I registered with the group (ISGC). I did not mention that before.

Thanks for the note Scotty!

I received my parts from Dale Friday, and I am very pleased. The Slyde-Car looks a lot nicer than it does in the pictures. My PSG is in a tight place and I didn't have much flexibility (either choices or my body) on how to take them. http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix/6501_SlydeCar_002_small_1.j...
