A very special guitar there sir, mine is similar except for the swaged metal rod ends, and brass barrel tuners onboard. Happy playing , I admire your posts.

I had a '66 bolt-on about two years ago. Pickups were 19k, measured by Mike Cass...boy was that thing loud and punchy! Traded it for a '67 cut-tail "just because", sure miss it! Glad you are enjoying yours. Emmons were just such unusual guitars!

Nice full fat chord voices, but sure changed my hand technique; blocking etc. Went back to ten-string 2 years ago--like playin' a banjo now--love it!

Nice work from a quality builder and innovator-- if it weren't for him, I'd still have pot metal brackets on my '78 Pro III Custom. Thank you Jim Flynn!

Dicky's Pro II Custom Sho-Bud re-worked

P.S. I want to add this--although the sound of this intrument was and fabulous right off, the feel was very stiff and 'pushy'--to my feel; I'm an MSA/Blanton guy-that's why I wanted it looked over and adjusted. While I was there I asked Mike Cass, okay these guys are true Professionals obviously --h...

Dicky's Pro II Custom Sho-Bud re-worked

Just wanted to show the beautiful Sho-Bud I received recently and the precise re-rodding and KL arrangements done by Mike Cass over in Dickson TN. I put her in my car and drove it out there (no shipping this babe!) and in two days this smokin' hot guitar was ready to go! My sincere thanks to Dicky, ...

YES! This is the kind of elevated playing of this modern instrument(the pedal steel guitar) I envision with my aluminum pedal harp idea---which I am still working on--an extension of what you are doing on deeper, longer string nodes; only, like a grand piano, adding to the beauty and sustain of the ...

Sho-Buds ??

I am very happy now that I have gone back to the older Sho-Buds! Just took the '75 Pro II Custom I bought from Randy of Amber Digby's group to Mike Cass. Spent 3 days there in beautiful TN while he set up the guitar like I wanted KL's,ETC--I couldn't be more pleased! And you are right on; What a sou...

I Had a Dream

Hi b0b, yes, it was played with both hands---the bass with the left hand & the treble with the right hand. I could not tell what the strings were, but I think they sounded metal; like piano wires. I am still trying to find out what it was that I saw; that's the reason I have about 245 pages of d...

I Had a Dream

Hello everyone--I had a dream, really an unannouned vision on the night of a strong snowfall of all places here in S.Texas---I saw an all aluminum hollow frame that was vertical--like a Harp, but it had the sound and playabilty of our dear steel guitars; with the pedals,of course, but the knee lever...
