i used my kids 30 year old erector set to build a uickup winder. even had a level winder on it. had to use two motors tho.

e-bay to mark the fret spacing then used a sharpi
to pull the lines.

Thanks guys. got my fret spacing. when you live on SS retirement, you don't just go out and buy it. you DIY. now i'll see if I can find the electronics for it.
does anyone know of a web site that shows how to build a volume peddel? i have a reverb. again, thanks all.

the fret scale for a steel guitar is taken from the nut to the bridge. yes or no? also, where can i find a fret calculator? ,y fret board is 25.5". with 24 frets.

what is the string assignment for A7 tuning?
size and note ~low to high~

i built an 8-string and wound the pickup myself.
however, if i tap the guitar anywhere, it is picked
up and transmitted to the amp. how can i pad the
pickup. or how is it done?

i have spent 100s of hours on the internet. and i
have yet to find sites for steel guitar parts. a
lot of 6 string. however, i need 8/10/and 12 string
parts. any help out there? about ready to take the gas pipe.

what is the advantage of two bridge pickups and
how are thay wired?

and i was told never to use a tuneable bridge on
a lap top.

what is the nut-bridge spacing on the Fender that
Cindy plays? i count 30 frets. isn't that a lot?

could never get 'youtube' to play. after loading i hit play and it starts to reload over again.

i am using an 8-string home brew steel. (not lap)only 1 problem, with the bone nut i am using, strings
10/14&17 vibrate into the nut making them lower.
Help Needed.

i"m shure you have all herd it at least once. (only
one string) in this case, [A] string. high pitch with
vibration. i have ruled out the bridge becouse only
one string. and i have changed the nut. it dose not
come through the amp. any ideas?

on the standerd 1/2/or 3 neck, (non-lap) what is the
nut-bridge spaceing ? or does every brand have there
own. what gives better sound, 22" or 25"? tks

where are nylon strings used? does anyone here
use them?

i have serveral how to play books. but none of then
answer my needed question. i have blocking down pat,
however none of the books state when or where to
block. (after each note-after each measure-after your mother-in-law goes home)? when?

just built a new pickup for my 8 string. 3" bar
magnet / 3700 turns .036 wire. am only getting 1000
ohms. does not sound great. any ideas?
