TKL makes a lap steel gig bag, no. 4629. You'll have to get your local store to order it. Melobar used to supply it with their lap steels.

Ok, who got this sweet National Dynamic?

Link to auction on eBay.

I was bidding on it but I came up short. This one looked to be really nice.

Congratulations on whomever won it.

Oops. My reply went into the Classifieds.

George, you're still making beautiful instruments. I wish I could make my George Board sound as good as it looks! It's a matter of the Indian, not the arrow in my case. :D

I just got finished viewing your DVD, Rob. I think you did a great job of explaining things for beginners, especially picking and blocking. The video explains and shows the technique of right hand blocking the best of any I've seen. :D Maybe now I can learn to make my lap steel sound like that! I'm ...

Whoaa! I just got finished watching this and the concert footage is great. It's not often you get that kind of video quality to see Lindley's work. It's worth a Netflix rental, definitely.

A keyboard stand is the most reasonable option. Make sure it is tall enough for you and check them all out, as there are many different designs. Get a sturdy one. Once you get it, go to the Auto Parts store and buy a couple feet of 3/4" or 7/8" rubber hose. Using a utility knife, cut it to...

I'm new at this and, by no measure, an expert. But, I have done quiet a bit of experimenting and I think what determines how you wear your picks is your hand posture. You can position your hand in a lot of different ways, depending on how and whether or not you palm block. Each different position se...

Ok, I finished my beer. I saw RR last month and I've got to tell you, the guy is a performer! He is exposing a whole new audience to a different brand of steel guitar and it ROCKs! My teenage sons like it and so do I. Greatest steel guitarist? No. Greatest steel guitar performer? Maybe. Fun? You bet.

Playing Height For Your Steel

I'm new to lap steel and I started out playing it on my lap. Unfortunately, I have some arthritis in my neck that does not like for me to have it in that position. I've now moved it up on a stand about 4" above my lap, which helps. Now, I'm having problems with my muting fingers on my left hand...

Peter, I put that VV blade pickup in today and it's a huge improvement over the original IMO. I love it. Thanks for the tip. Pete Biltoft is great to deal with, too. BTW, keep you eyes off that Dynamic. I've had my eyes on it for a while. TV let that one get away but I know where it is. So...
