I met Bobbe in 2006 when I went into his shop for some CD's and books and little things. We talked for hours about everything from steel guitars to motorcycles, and we snapped a couple pictures. He's a world class picker, a class act, and one of the nicest guys I've ever met. I'm proud to have met h...

Lap steeler needs PSG advice!

Howdy! I'm a lap steel/dobro player looking to get a pedal steel. My dads band has a steel player who has a couple guitars for sale at a good price. One is a 10 string E9th and the other is 14 string universal. They're both 1980's Sierras and only $100 difference in price. What one should I go with?...

if you have it uploaded to youtube there should be a link that says "embed". copy that and paste it into whatever section you want to put it (about Jim Cohen). to access that part, go to your myspace home page, click edit profile (to the left of your picture), then "band details"...

Sho-Bud Pro for sale

I just bought this in November, but I have to let it go to fund some other musical ambitions. I'm not sure on the year, a local steeler thought it was early 1970's. Standard copedant. 3 pedals 1 knee. Asking $1500 or as close to that as I can get. I have a lot more more detailed pictures, just messa...

I'm a young guy, 23 this coming Sunday. I'm new to pedal steel, but I honestly feel that as long as there's recordings of the pedal steel available, there'll be people who fall in love with it like we all did.

I just picked up my copy today and I love it. They picked a good selection too. I think Norm Hamlet plays on the Haggard cuts, am I right? I know Paul Franklin plays on the Jones cuts.

man I hope not. Him and Neil Flanz are the main reasons I started playing the pedal steel. I even named my car Sneaky Pete. If so, it's a sad day.

I've got 2 full sleeves, tops of both hands, knuckles, palm of my left hand, both sides of my neck, my throat and my legs! I'm saving my steel tattoo for my back, but I'm not really sure what to incorporate. maybe a hula girl playing hawaiian guitar!

new guy saying hi

Hi everyone, my name is Dusty and I'm new on here. I've been reading the boards for quite some time and I decided it was high time I actually joined. Been playing the dobro for a couple years now, but I'm new to the pedal steel, just got my first, a mid-70's Sho-Bud Pro, which I love a lot. I look f...
