correct string height for a 6 string squareneck reso ?

Hello all. I'm fairly new to the reso. Recently traded up from my first squareneck (your basic Rogue) to something a little nicer (Michael Kelly Bayou Deluxe). I've been wondering about string height. From my reading, the higher the better for more down pressure on the spider. However, I would think...

Correction

Please note. The second (upside down) endplate pic shows a lower on the 9 string which is no longer on the guitar but does not show the raise on the 7 string which now is on the guitar. Thanks.

Bill Lawrence LXR 16 widemount SALE PENDING

Bill Lawrence LXR 16 widemount pickup. This pickup looks like new and, of course, works fine. I simply wanted a single coil sound and replaced it with a Wallace TT. $75 includes insured shipping to lower 48 only. Paypal or MO only please. Thanks for looking and please feel free to ask questions. Bes...

BMI old style changer fingers LOWER PRICE

Two of the pins broke on the old "roll pin" type changer fingers of my BMI. I decided to replace them all with the newer slotted type and have eight of the originals left to sell (a spare might be nice to have if you have an older BMI). These are double raise double lower. Two for $20 ship...

MSA Classic D12 SOLD PLEASE CLOSE

Hello all. Just completed rebuilding my new guitar, a 4 x 5 (now) MSA semi classic so I'm selling this Mid 1970s MSA Classic D12, tidewood mica. I've had it for a few years now and it was always a bit too much guitar for me. I am hoping for a local sale in the Southeast (Columbus/Atlanta area) to in...

Thanks.

Thanks for the input Brad. The resale value of these guitars is certainly an issue as they are not well known. And, their webpage (revivalacoustics) is still down??? It sure is nice looking though!

Thanks and best regards

Revival Squarenecks?

Hello all. I've recently come across a revival squareneck rr-18 which is on sale in a store for what appears to be a very very good price (given its list in the $800s). Anybody know anything about them? I did notice that within just the past week or so their homepage seems to be unavailable. A googl...

Bmi Rkr

Danny, yes you will need to have some bends in the pull rods but that's not hard or unusual. It's just a matter of getting some parts and doing a little tinkering to get it working. One thing to be aware of. There are two different spacings (pivot pin to stop pin) on the crossbars and you'll need to...

Bmi Rkr

Hello Danny. I have an older BMI like yours (looks like it is set up for a RKR which will go in and function like the "upside down" LKR. I thought about doing my RKR the "upside down way" but after playing around with it, it seems that there is less difficulty getting things work...

Me too

I would too Doug. The guitar John is talking about has only 1 knee lever now though. And, yes, interesting about the MSA 2 and 4 hole bellcranks. The D12 in the pic has mostly 2 hole except for the lowers. The semi classic I just finished rebuilding has all four hole bellcranks. The two hole bellcre...

Sounds about right

I think that estimate's about right, maybe even a little low. Folks on ebay are routinely paying more than that for Maversicks and the Sho Bud Fender student model (the name, of course, sells). Interesting, the regular sidekick (not the red baron though) which I think is a better guitar usually goes...

Hello John. I'm pretty sure what you have there is technically known as a "Sidekick Pro Am." There are not very many of them around. I think it was intended to fill a middle ground for MSA. Much better than a Red Baron or a Sidekick. But, mechanically not as good, and very different from t...

entry level squareneck

Hello all, looking for a used entry level squareneck (maybe a round neck if a super deal) resonator to buy or trade for (I have lots of stuff). Due to some recent disappointing deals, members with solid reputations only please. Thanks.
