Randall, you'll definitely have to pack your case inside of a box of some kind with a LOT of packing material. The package needs to be able to withstand a 6-foot fall onto concrete... because that's very likely to happen, regardless of which carrier you use. Greg Cutshaw wrote a nice summary of how...

How do you ship your Instrument?
Howdy.....I was just wondering on how do you ship such a heavy instrument like a 75lb D-10 PSG? Obviously within it own case, but do you wrap the case with tape or do you put the case inside another box so the case doesn't get marred up too? With that much weight, isn't there a 'weight limit' for UP...

I have a question...My '71 Emmons D-10 came with 'White' colored Atoms on the fretboard. I see many other Emmons, even earlier than mine, with colored Atoms. Was that an option of a color choice back then that year? I mean I haven't seen any other white atom fretboard steels on here. When I ordered ...

As far as the Emmons Kluson tuners, I see as well that my '71 Emmons doesn't have the nut either and never gave it much thought before these post. I never particulary like the looseness of the Kluson keys, as when you tune it up and you overshoot the pitch, you turn it back and there is a looseness ...

Regarding my first hand experience of Emmons Steels staying in tune....I have a '71 Emmonds D-10 and I never had any real problems with it going out way of tune. Usually temperature changes like playing outdoors in the sun, or the steel needed to warm up to near room temp from riding in the van in t...

Hello David....thanks for your reply. I would have to agree with you that guitar amplifiers have been around a long time and each one has been pretty much perfected to do a particular job. No one amp seems to do it all. The Fender Twin had the sound I liked and I was used to hearing it time after ti...

Regarding my experience with amplifiers, I haven't had many at all. I started with a Fender Vibrolux Reverb back in 1964 with guitar, and when I started playing steel, I moved up to a Fender Twin from around the 70's era. The Vibrolux was good for playing around the house at that time. I liked the s...

Hi....the 'Promat' looks very nice and almost exactly like my '71 Emmons includng the style of floor pedals, fingerboard, tuners and pickups, endplate, etc. (My fingerboard has the white atom symbols instead of colored) Is this a knockoff of the Emmons guitar? I mean what is the bigger difference? h...

Nice looking steel there Nick. I think Black was a very popular color back then. I have a 1971 Rosewood Emmons D-10, 8/7, and I have never owned or played any other, so I can't compare it to any others steels really. I haven't been playing music for the past 26+ years as I got into others things, an...

Hi guys...Jim and Bob and others. I like the tone on my Emmons as I am also used to hearing it sound that way now. It does take a little time to get the sound you want to hear in your head and have it come out the amplifier. I think it is also a matter of a good amp and playing technique. One other ...

Hello....well it looks like this thread is winding down. I want to thank all those who responded with your personal thoughts and feelings from around the globe. Hi all....well it certainaly isn't my intentions to start any arguments on who's is the best, I just thought there might be 1 or 2 pedal steels that most people would want over all the rest is all. I have never heard of many of the new ones and certainly not a 'Anapeg' mentioned by Jon. I have a clo...
